 | Sony BMG are listing Simon and Garfunkel live 1969 as a February 2007 release. This was the tour with a full band that premiered material from the yet-to-be released Bridge Over Troubled Water, including Cuba Si, Nixon No, which has never been officially released before |

Do you know when it will be scheduled? It will be an audio CD or a DVD? I´m very interesting of hearing Cuba Si, Nixon no (the latest discussion of Paul & Art when they recorded Bridge).
It´s curious. Two years later, Nixon gave the first Paul Simon solo album as a gift to Mao Tsetung when he visited China.
(I supposed for the fact that Paul decided not to include that song in the long play)
(I´m sorry for my bad English) |

 | As rumours said when the first S&g live CD from 1967 was released, this is now the 2nd concert from the 1969 tour.
It is not a DVD (was any concert by S&G ever filmed at total length? I guess not)

 | A version of this bootleg is somewhat readily available...its called something like "Simon and Garfunkel go back to college", or something like that. Cuba Si, Nixon No is an interesting song, its very fast and upbeat. As far as playing with the full band, it works well, but Garfunkel´s voice is particularly annoying on the recording I have...like he´s trying to outsing Paul, when Paul is just singing normally. |

 | Which AG also does on the Old Friends tour. The new arrangements of the songs are great, I would listen to them more often if AG´s loud singing was not so annoying.....
On the Old Friends tour it seems to me that AG has trouble with the big arena´s rather than he is trying to outsing Paul. |

 | I own this bootleg (back to collegue) for many years now, and I still Love it. Whenever one of my friends ask me to provide him with S&G live material, I give him a copy of the official live 1967 cd and this bootleg. Because the 1967 show contains a lot of "rare" songs, while the 1969 show has a lot of "hits" (like boxer, bridge, America, mrs robinson etc).
Together, it is a great compilation of S&G live material !
Cannot wait to buy the official version of this bootleg. Even though the bootleg already sounds great, the official cd will sound even better ! |
