 | To be honest I think that it would be a bit too much if the whole Graceland album is covered.
I know that I won´t record any Graceland songs. It´s a challenge though to see if you can make ´You Can Call Me Al´, ´The Boy In The Bubble´ or ´Diamonds´ interesting alone. I don´t know... maybe a 2cd? That´s too ambitious I´m afraid. |

 | Back when I was playing for a living, Duncan was one of the crowd favorites... Let me know if I can help. |

 | Re-recording Graceland would be fantastic fun - especially the songs with Ladysmith on them. |

 | Manus - I didn´t mean to propose for more than one song, I was just considering options.
I say someone take the lead of the project right now and lets get to work. Make it a 10-15 setlist. If it goes well, we can redo Graceland (it can be done!) |

 | We need to make decisions. Do we want a Paul Simon tribute in general or the Graceland anniversary thing. I must agree with Bluesmoke. I think it`s wise to have 10-15 song tracklist and if it works out fine, maybe we can do the Graceland thing. I don`t want to do the Graceland thing because I think it`s the least interesting Paul Simon album and I don`t want to rule anyone out who wants to record another song. Soâ?¦ my suggestion. Let`s do the general thing and forget about the Graceland thing. Ofcourse you can pick a Graceland song but let`s not be limited to that album. If anyone thinks it`s a better idea to stick with the Graceland anniversary album idea, speak now, or hold your peace forever (or something like that)
For the 10-15 tracklist, I`d suggest we all (who wants to join) pick one song and if there`s room for more (not too many musicians) we`ll have a second round for a second song.
For now (in no specific order)
1. Bodo ` The Coast
2. tnthub ` Duncan
3. Manus ` Train In The Distance
4. Bjorn ` The Boxer, scarborough fair or Kathy`s song (pleas pick one for now)
5. Bluesmoke ` (choose your destinyâ?¦J)

 | Hey Manus,
I have recorded many Paul Simon songs. This sounds like an amazing idea and I would Love to be apart of it. I wouldn´t mind doing Me and Julio if that would be ok with you. Thanks a lot. Get back to me! :) |

 | I received great response while singing an acoustic version of Bridge Over Troubled Water in Australia.
I´d Love to do that one! |

 | Well Sorry Manus - you got me wrong, I can not play The Coast :-) I just wanted to explain that it (was/is) not that hard to play.
(The real problem might be, I can not sing :-) ) |

 | wow this is such a fantastic idea - not that i´m particularly musical myself - but i know there are a lot who are on this forum. Marmotte or Thierry? Are you guys reading this? You should contribute your collaborations to the mix. It would be great if we could get this done in time for Paul´s birthday, and send it along with the rest of the stuff to Bonnie |

 | OOhhh soft parachutes...I´d like that! Gosh, I can´t make up my mind...oh...ok...I think I´´ve got it.
Since I have to do it for another project to...
I´m gonna go with:
50 ways to leave your mother...I mean...well, you know.... |

 | Alright Bluesmoke, `50 ways to spoil your brother` its.
It`s great to see that you`re all enthusiastic with the whole idea and that`s great! I`m looking forward to hear all of your versions.
So far we haveâ?¦
1. Gary Stewart ` Think too much (B right?)
2. Bjorn ` Kathy`s Song
3. Jeroen ` Bridge Over Troubled Water
4. tnthub ` Duncan
5. Manus ` Train In The Distance
6. Bluesmoke ` Fifty ways to leave your lover
7. Kory ` Me And Julio Down By The Schoolyard
8. Gary Sewart ` Soft Parachutes
Paul Simon`s birthday is October the 13th, which is really quick, but I think I can make it to record Train in the Distance by thenâ?¦ Maybe this whole project needs to grow more for a few daysâ?¦
Bluesmoke/Bjorn (and everyone elseâ?¦),
What do you thnk about recording a second song? I know I can play `Hearts And Bones` or `Graceland` aswellâ?¦. or `The Boxer`, or `Homeward Bound`, or `Kodachrome`orâ?¦ ah, I`m getting carried away!
I suggest we wait for a little longer to see if anyone is up for a `You`re the one`, `ROTS`, `Graceland`, `Rhymin Simon`, `Surprise`, `One Trick Pony`songâ?¦
Sor far so very goodâ?¦
Cheers,
Manus

 | Take your time, guys, October 13th is too soon.
What is the plan with this one, Manus? Get people to send in tapes for you to compile it on one CD? |
