 | I´ve just bought the CD: "Paul Simon as Jerry Landis" from 2006. You can listen to clips here:

Only one song (Loneliness) is verified as written by Paul (as Jerry Landis). The others are either other people´s songs or the writer is unknown.
His voice was already quite good when these songs were recorded (1959 to 1961).

| Yes, it´s worth buying.
Eventhough some of the songs are pretty naive and (unintentionally) funny, it´s great to hear his voice (which actually hasn´t "degraded" in the last 45 years). Paul did a solid job, interpreting and recording these songs at such a young age.
I believe that the female (background) singer is Carole King and both played most instruments themelves.

 | I found a perfect copy of PS songbook in vinyl today in a 2nd record shop. I now have something to add to the fan base as having something rare related to Paul Simon:-)
Also i found two diferent DVDs of Paul doing gospel - seemed to made at the same time with the same singers but different set lists. haven´t played them yet. |

| Hi Scaaty - I think they are not different, these are exactly the same DVD´s (the setlist is also the same, but in differnet order...or some songs have been merged together to 1 track...whatever) It is the same material |

| You´re right Bodo, one has only 6 songs on it and all the same as the other .. the annoying thing is one was 25.99 euro and the other 9.99. I´m going to try and return the more expensive one. moral of the story .. dont shop at lunch time in a hurry!!:-(
still the PS songbook was a nice find and doesn´t seemed to ahve been played before |
