 | I don´t think Paul Simon has ever written an overtly sexual song, or even one with a lot of physical or sensual imagery. Why do you think this is? |

 | I can think of a couple of exceptions: "Cecilia" was sort of sexual (although it is not a very...*serious* song). And what about "How The Heart Approaches What It Yearns" ("I roll in your arms and your voice is the heat of the night, I´m on fire")? However, you are right for the most part. I always just figured that Paul´s songwriting is good enough--and he can think of enough subjects to write about-- that he does not have to resort to the "sex sells" approach to marketing. Just my two cents. |

 | Well he has!
What about Baby Driver: "I`m not talking about... let`s talk about your sex-appeal, hit the road..." very provoking in 1969.
Duncan: "Couple in the next room, bound to win a prize" and later Duncan`s first sexual experience with a young girl reading from the bible (On record he comes into her tent, on Live Rhymin` she into his) "Oh what a night... and just like a dog I was befriended."
To name just two direct examples. But I guess Simon thinks this subject matter is overrated in the public, so his points are mostly others.

 | Klausi,
Good example, I forgot about "Duncan" and "Baby Driver." Not that it matters, but I´m pretty sure I read that it was Garfunkel who came up with the line "I´m not talkin´ about your pigtails, I´m talkin´ about your sex appeal." |

 | His references are subtle and clever not explicitly sexual. They are much more interesting because of this. We can all have an unembarrassed chuckle over those lines because they are well written-he lets us in on the joke with him. |

 | Theres a song on the Cast Capeman album called something like Wahzinak´s Letter, that is a highly sexual song...I don´t know whether Paul wrote the lyrics to that one through? If you havn´t heard it you ought to... |

 | It was YCCMA - if you talk about the sexual joke ("got a short little span of attention...")
Anyway, that was more like a joke |

 | Oh, and what we have forgotten - the famous "Me and Julio" was about his homosexual experience down by the schoolyard

 | Truman Capote said it was about a homosexual experience. Paul said that if it was, it certainly wasn´t one that he (Paul) had had. |
