 | When I said something and nothing what I meant is that it is not a real compatibility issue like say trying to play a VHS tape on a Betamax would have been.
It is annoying because it is just a bit of coding created by manufacturers to fix their prices in different regions. But it will fail because there are ways around it as it was an add-on dreamt up by marketing executives. |

 | Do the new Ray Blue players also have a region code ? I never heard something about this.
And I guess I will also not buy a player like this one, until now I do not see any sense in having a disc with 25 or more GB. DVD´s have a lot of space. |

 | We got a hint from a friend, that every DVD-player can easily be adopted as Region-Free. So we just called the Hotline for our Recorder and they told us what to do and it works. |

 | You can do that with newer players, but not all alowe it - and mine for example does not save the result... |

Manufacturers are trying to maximise profit and they don´t really care about regions (except perhaps Sony and others that also produce the DVDs) so they make the same player for every market and use a simple ´cheat´ code to change them.
I suspect that there may even be another code to change Bodo´s DVD player to region-free rather than the temporary one you have been using. |

 | I got the cd today, the song You used to call me is taken from an Old 45 record, (which you can hear) only 500 copies were made, mostly used as a promo, Paul contributed 4 part harmony which inspired Terrance to use more complex harmonies in his own music.
I like the music, the stories to the songs in the booklet are interesting to read. |

 | Hi Ans
You already got your´s now? I ordered mine from amazon.de and still wait.
But what you said confuses me a little bit - Paul did not contribute to this new album, he contributed to this Old 45 recording? When was that?
And who sung the vocals for You used to call me? |

 | Hi Bodo,
They shipped it very fast sept. 7, I didn´t expect it so soon. Nice that you can follow your order at amazon.com.
Paul contributed not to this album, he contributed to the Old 45 recording. There is a piece written on the booklet about the contribution where I got the information from.
Here is a part of it:
This is definitely a track from the vault and features Simon on background vocals. It was recorded in 1985 as a 45 on the small Grand Point label owned by Richard (Dickie) Landry, Terrance´s first manager. Terrance was 19 when he did a session with Paul Simon while he was in LA researching Zydeco for his "Graceland" CD. |

 | Ans, I will update the description in the online shop with the info you gave us. (I will also make it possible that others can update the info there and give more information about a specific item)
Even if this song is not new now, I think it is a very special find. But maybe they should have restaurated it a little bit...? Or they did like the sound of the Old vynil? |
