I think he may do a little bit longer in Europe. In America the audience is always talking among themselves, getting up and down to buy food and beer and making a lot of noise.

European crowds are a lot more respectful, are fully concentrating on the stage so will not get distracted if the set is longer.

At least... that´s what I´m hoping!

I don´t think so. I would Love to see some small (1 song)changes in the setlist like he did on the tours before...but since the S&G he is playing exactly the same set every night too. Really boring.... it is not even fun to find some bootlegs when the setlist is always the same.

The reason, if there is one, is probably because he is such a perfectionist (now, this a compliment - I don´t want to reopen the controversy of the ´control freak´).
If songs have to be rehearsed until perfect harmony is achieved, then there is no place for improvisation...

I read somewhere (actaully it´s in a book designed to write your lyrics in, which includes quotes from other musicians)that Paul has quoted; "Improvisation is too good to leave to chance"... : )

That is really sad, because with a band like this he could play nearly every song on improvisation, and it would sound wonderful. Most of the musicians have a jazz background, so they can easely play without a note.

I´d Love to see, ´Hobo´s Blues´ In the set list!! That would be fabulous! Or Peace Like A River, Papa Hobo, Etc, I think that in each venue Paul should play at least one song different, So that every concert is unique, E.g For encore at Manchester (Papa Hobo), London (Peace Like A River) Birmingham (Hearts And Bones), DO you know what I mean??

A small change in the setlist in every venue, So that each concert is unique, And different slightly.

Thanks

I was dreaming of something even more unconceivable than that : fans shouting their request, absolutely uneralistic, I know !

Billy Joel did just that... gave us three songs to chose from and whichever got the biggest cheer he sang

Well, that was pretty much just for the show, I think, Scaaty. He KNEW that "Just the Way You Are" would win that poll EVERY time (though I cheered for "She´s Got a Way, both in Dublin and Manchester ;-) ), which he also implied by saying something like, "sometimes we also play Honesty anyway, so it´s pretty much bulls*** all the same". Well, it was still kind of funny, but letting people choose between one of his most celebrated songs whatsoever and one or two lesser known ballads, it was never any contest, and it left us a little bumbed, as we could now blame the rest of the stadium for not hearing "She´s Got a Way", which (obviously!) is his best ballad).
If Paul did the same ("Something So Right" up against "Bridge") unfortunately it would just as predictable an outcome. Of course, if he would have the guts to let us choose between, say, "Allergies" and "Think too Much (a)" it certainly WOULD be interesting :-)

Lol... and this could also explain the system of ´freedom´ in the western world :-)
