 | Ok, very good
I was surprised by the last statistic I made - I thought that the older fans would Love S&G much more - but it is completely different 41% of the people between 10 and 19 like S&G, while only 11 percent of the people between 40 and 49 like them..and 18% between 50 and 59

 | Although this is very interesting, i think the result of the ´S&G or Paul Simon solo´ is biaised because of way you put the question in the fan database.
I understood it personally as a choice to be made, not also as a possibility to say both. Did you take into consideration the answers in the ´other artists liked´ as well ?
I answered Paul solo because I do prefer him alone by far but there is no doubt that I like S&G as well... |

 | I reread my above message and I wanted to say I appreciate the work put into the results you posted ... and the difficulty when answers are not straight forward |

 | Hi Natacha - it is no problem to change your answer, just update your entry in the fan-database
I have now made a selection of 3 choices, and you can write a comment in the next field why you decided for that..
For the results, I only have counted something to Paul Simon when the answer was clear "PAUL SIMON"..if someone said anything like: Paul Simon (but I liked S&G)..or, I liked the OF tour, then I counted him to both. |

 | Thanks, Bodo.
I had forgotten about the possibility of updating my entry, I have now done so.
I too Love (unnecessary) statistics ! |

 | Ok, I am curious now - either it is a fault of the formular or I am wrong - but isn´t Natacha a female name?
Are you a woman or a man?
(Sorry, in our language Natacha is clearly female) |

 | It is an error in the formular, sorry.
I guess when you have updated your entry the select jumped back to male, and then you saved it with ´male´. I have to update this error (I did not find it while testing, because I am male and this was the first choice...) |

 | This is funny !
But I confirm I am a female - whatever the language. I hadn´t paid attention about the automatic change either... |

 | Now, please Bodo, don´t put me in your statistic as the first Paul Simon fan who changed sex ...lol |

 | back to age profile of fans, I´m not surprised. S&G music is sweet, idealistic type of music which appeals to younger people, but there is a cyniscism? and world weariness to paul simons solo work which appeals to older people. At least thats how it evolved for me. |

 | But on the other side there are much older people on S&G concerts, and a more mixed audience at the PS shows... at least this was my impression. |

 | S&G concerts would appeal to the general public of a certain age for whom it would be a nostalgic trip, hence the oldies, but for real fans its Paul Simon. At the OF concert there were a lot of people there (older) who preferred PS adn i got a great response to my wearing of a Tshirt from the YTO tour. |

 | I saw a lot of young people at the Old Friends tour and also at the Surprise tour and in New Orleans. |

 | I have just seen the "continent" statistic and I am glad that Europe comes first, though it doesn´t seem logic considering Paul´s background - it would indeed be interesting to send those figures to Paul´s management for future (or rather immediate)tour planning.
Like numbers, main fan club(s) or Internet sites originated from European countries.
The next poll could be on the eagerness of fans in relation to where they come from...good luck Bodo. |
