 | I was not part of that, just because I had no idea about its existence,at that time.It must have been good.Like most of you I share the same frustration about not find material and other fans,in fact this page is one of the best things I´ve found at Net.(Once more,Thank You Bodo!!!)
The CDs stores in my city gives me creepings...Of course I live near Sà£o Paulo, but I´m a little lazy to travel just to look for CDs,mainly knowing Paul is even less popular here in Brazil than in, for example, France.
Anyway, special things and persons are never easy to find, but they worth the time you spend with...:-)

 | If I remember well one of the ladies is mentioned in Victoria Kingston´s book about Simon & Garfunkel. I just leafed through a couple of the newsletters they published, but it´s only Barbara and Sheila. |

 | Out of all the names I mentioned, I thought it would be you who would reply Rob. I knew you were out there somewhere. I thought I´d heard of those 2 ladies before - it must have been the VK book. Or were they mentioned in your ´Homeward Bound´ pages too? I hope you are keeping well? |

 | Sorry I went off the subject of the PSAS Natacha. Rob, there are some more names at the bottom of this page http://www.songfta.com/legal.htm who you may remember. Are you still in touch with any of them?
I just looked through the VK book but couldn´t see any mention of the PSAS or those ladies. In Patrick Humphries´ book ´Boy in the Bubble´ he gives thanks/acknowledgement to the Paul Simon Appreciation Society, and there´s a box number & address. That´s from 1988 though, so probably not in use anymore. |

 | If memory serves it was Barbara Savage... she actually appeared on the BBC TV quiz show Mastermind in 1986.
The PSAS was formed in July 1984 and published continually as a bi-monthly newsletter, until financial dificulties, lack of essential resources and facilities , forced it to fold with issue 18 in June 87.
When not running the PSAS Barbara was also involved with the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal,Cumbria.
The society had the firm backing of Pauls manager, Ian Hoblyn.
As it was the first organisation of its kind devoted to PS and his music, it was indeed quite a special time, and i too have fond memories of it.....
I do not believe you can suddenly stop being a PS fan...following him over the years is fascinating..as he improves i feel you do too...it certainly prompts you to look at life differently, "its easier to learn , than unlearn". I have been a fan every day now for nearly 35 years, never waning , and am sure Barbara and Sheila are too.

 | I know about the "PSAS" and have some of their news, but wasn`t a member. Membership was difficult for someone who lives in another country.
I heard about them after the unexpected success of Graceland. |

 | I wrote to the address in the front of The Boy In The Bubble many years ago, probably late 1980s, and my letter was returned undelivered. |

 | I couldn´t agree more with Simon. Once a Paul Simon fan, I can´t imagine ever ´quitting´.
The reasons for the PSAS stopping are numerous but I believe it is related mainly to the changes in Barbara´s personal life.
I wish she reads those lines and praise and come and join us! |

 | I was a member of the PSAS and met Barbara Savage when Paul Simon came to Holland for the Graceland concerts in Rotterdam .I had been penfriends with Barbara for a couple of years at that time and she stayed at my place in Tilburg where I was a student at that time. After that we lost contact .Don`t know why.The PSAS didn`t excist after that either .After the tour , I mean .
I was quite shocked to read she sold her house to follow the Graceland Tour .
I am also curious to know how she`s doing now . I was 19 at that time , 39 now and mother of 7 kids.I`m still a Paul Simon fan.I am a fan since I was 14.
