 | Many many apologies if there is already a thread on this - I´ve looked in the last couple of pages and can´t see one - but then, my power of observation is not brilliant!
Just been looking at the poll on the worst Paul Simon songs, and it really shocked me - Allergies?! PIg Sheep and Wolves?! Night Game?! - these are some of my favourites!
I guess that´s one of the cool things about PS though, so many different styles and ideas, that fan´s opinions are so different.

 | Yeah Tim/Brie,
It is amazing the variety of opinions here. I like all the songs you mention.
In my opinion, nothing on Hearts And Bones is bad, yet many hate Cars Are Cars.
I tend not to like some of the Capeman songs-- like "Killer Wants to Go to College" or "The Vampires". To me, neither of these songs really stands as a ´song´ but rather a moment from a musical play.
On the other hand, Cars are Cars at least attempts to show that ´people are strangers´ and it has a more (to me) profound meaning. I think Pigs, Sheep and Wolves is the perfect sequel to At The Zoo, so I guess we all need to ´agree to disagree...´ ah well...

 | For me it is important to TRY to keep a certain distance to the man whose music I admire. Especially because I like his voice so much.
I think we all made the experience that frinds do not like what you like. And conversations about this are really not helpful.
And Paul Simon is the first to admit he wrote some bad songs.
Although his opinions change from time to time... |
