Not that it is of any importance, but when it comes to the number of audience in this article, I have always read totally differnt figures. S&G a lot more than Paul McCartney and Elton John last year only 250.000. |

 | Yes.
McCartney 500.000
S&G 600.000
John max. 300.000
You could see on TV that there were less at Elton John. |

 | but i think at least all these numbers are just created by some journalists creative brain...there are no tickets sold and no one is counting 600.000 people. Even the Guiness Book of world records does not take such numbers serious.
In our days of big events and the slogan that everytime it has to be bigger and more it´s clear that Cartney had 500K, S&G 600K, Elton John more than 600K and this years BJ ond Brian Adams 800K...? Just to write some big numbers in your paper.

 | I think you can estimate it by the space that the people need. So you can defintely say that one crowd is bigger than the other. 100.000 people more need a lot a space.
But I agree that it is just a rough estimation and that it depends very much on the wishes of the writer. |

 | yes they estimate it on the space. But what I have seen from the CP91 concert is, that many people have been sitting there on the ground, with a big blanket. Most of the time only in the area around the stage people stand close to each other... so it depends on the multiplicator you take...5 people per m²..or only 2 people per m², that makes a big difference. Maybe S&G do not like to stand so close to each other, than fans from a young boygroup, or a rock band (I am sure that S&G fans don´t stand as close..)... so all these numbers are just...unserious. |

 | Yes that is true. By the way the "official" number for Billy Joel is 500.000.
Estimates for CP 91 between 600.000 to 750.000.
CP 81 400.000 to 500.000.
I think it is possible to come as near as 10 to 15 percent, with helicopters etc.
I read that in the case of Garth Brooks in New York there was really manipulation, apparently with the "agreement" of all people involved.
