 | Hi Blu
I loved your review, but as Bodo has already said, don´t feel put out about Paul going early. At the end of the day is was a security guard that told you this information, not a band member, and they´re far more likely to know.
Everything I´ve ever read Paul has left early. He doesn´t eat before a show, he eats after it and so will want something to eat, have a rest and then bed probably. He´s getting a lot of dates into only 4 weeks and so it will be tiring.
So don´t worry about it. | | | | Beth Jul-26-2006, 21:56 GMT

 | When the show in Toledo was over, Paul was supposed to get on a plane...but obviously he wanted some rest so came back to the hotel..I did not see him that night after the concert...but I spoke to someone who was getting off the elevator as Paul was getting on...and he got some pictures with him...(but they didn´t turn out because the guy forgot to turn on the flash on the disposable camera)...but anyway, the guy said that Paul looked absolutely exhausted.....To be 64 and to put it all out there for 90-110 minutes...must be tiring...
I would have thought that back stage passes would be good before the concert, not after....
Paul gave you a great show, Blu....Be thankful that we still have him.....and that he is still making music...and still touring.... | | | | blu Jul-27-2006, 12:03 GMT

 | Don´t get me wrong, guys, i´m definitely thankful that he´s still touring, etc. I´ve just never been to a show before and wasn´t familiar with his traditions of skipping out early, etc.
I also thought that backstage passes could be used before the show, and i tried, but they wouldn´t let me. And the fact that the bassist B.K. told me that Paul would definitely be doing autographs in the green room after the show really got my hopes up. I guess i´m also sad because this will likely be Paul´s last tour - and therefore my last chance to get his autograph - and i came so close (but yet so far).
I Love paul, but after so many years you´d think he´d give something back to the fans. I understand he´s tired, so maybe do some autographs before the show? Or maybe at a specified time in the afternoon? It just seems like it´s not that much to ask for after we´ve given him years of support. | | | | Bodo Jul-27-2006, 12:19 GMT

 | Who said that this will be Pauls last tour?
Don´t get ME wrong now, there are several artist who say so since they are 45, but Paul Simon never said: "This could be my last tour (so come to see me now)".
I think he is not that kind of pop artist who has to quit one day because his live show is too powerfull and can only be done by a 25 year Old dancer. | | | | Micky Jul-27-2006, 15:13 GMT

 | Yeh, the blues guitarist John Lee Hooker was touring pretty much up to his death and he was in his 80s.
Maybe Paul thought he´d be ok and would do some in the greenroom, but we´ve all experienced it at some time or another, where you plan on doing something and then decide agaist it because you´re tired or what ever. | | | | |
