 | I notice on Amazon.com, Tower Records, Barnes and Nobel Surprise is listed as a big seller. Anyone know if Surprise has gone Gold? Certainly is selling much better than YTO. |

 | YTO went Gold in the US about three months after release date, means sales of over 500.000.
Simon said, worldwide sales of YTO were about 1 million.
If Surprise goes Gold in the US (we will know earliest in late August, probably later), it will sell more than YTO, I guess about 1,5 to 2 million copies.
Not bad, but not sensational too.
(Graceland is about 15 million, ROTS about 5 million, but in times of more record sales).
A grammy nomination would be nice. |

 | Yes, it is deserved, and I think more than for YTO, which got the nomination.
I am talking about the most important Grammy for album of the year.
Simon won it three times (BOTW, Still crazy, Graceland), only Stevie Wonder and Frank Sinatra did it too.
But even more impressive is, that he got this nomination also for three other Solo-albums, There goes..., ROTS and YTO.
I´m sure there is no other artist who got this nomination for most of his albums. |

 | An early morning radio show here was giving out prizes of "Surprise" everyday for a week. ?You had to answer such questions as " What famous ´60s duo was Paul Simon part of?" I think it was their way of weeing if anyone was listening. |

 | Surprise will sell much more than You´re The One as that sank from the album charts after a couple of weeks. I reckon it will sell 2 million worldwide with ease.
This was posted on an Arizona newspaper site this week:
"Surprise hit store shelves May 9. Rows of the album continue to line the bestseller rack at many local stores."
