 | Why does Paul hate Kathy´s Song??...It is an absolute stunner.
This has been a point of great interest for me for a while now. When I heard Art sang it during the tour, I was a little dissapointed to be honest. It is such a Paul Simon tune and the agony that is underlying the song is somewhat nullified with Art´s voice.
Any comments?? |

 | I would think it would be a favourite of yours, Kath, since it has your name in it! You could pretend he´s singing it to you:) |

 | True!! I´m glad my name is included....I like the song, mostly cause it has my name in it! Kidding, kidding....Yeah, its a good song, but there are other songs that he included Kathy in (eg. America) that I Love much more...:) |

 | well you´re very lucky! The only song I know of that has my name in it was by a group called The Looking Glass in the early 1970s . . . the song they had called "Brandy" was a one-hit wonder, LOL! I never even liked the song, it was about a girl named, well, Brandy, and she ended up being dumped by her boyfriend because he loved sailing the ocean more than her . . . isn´t that pathetic?
I wish Paul had written a song for me:( Some girls get all the luck! |

 | Lol! I wouldn´t say I get all the luck...Besides the song isn´t specifically for ME! But we can pretend, can´t we?! Hee, hee! :) |

 | Hehe, I would if I were you!
I do that since I was born at the time that "Born At The Right Time" was written. |

 | Kathy is also mentioned in the Simon solo "Late Great Johnny Ace" (from Hearts And Bones, 1981) as "the girl from the summer before." |

 | Apparently Paul is still in contact with Kathy, who is now married with a family and living in Wales. She attended the Hyde Park S&G concert in 2004 and usually tries to get to at least one concert on the all too rare occasions when Paul is on tour here |

 | I never seen any other picture of her, other than on the cover of Songbook. Mysterious indeed. |

 | In my opinion Kathy´s Song is one of Paul´s absolutely most beautiful songs. And if Paul doesn´t like it, well that´s typical Paul Simon, isn´t it? |

 | That´s not something I´ve heard myself. Last time I heard him speak of it, he spoke fondly of it and had agiggile about the plaque that keeps bing pinched. |
