 | There´s an article in the Articles section of the site from the Montreal Gazette. It is very complimentary about Paul´s performance, songs, etc. until it ends with an odd comment:
<<If there were lulls in last night´s set list, they came with three songs from Simon´s recent disc, the disappointing Surprise. In future years, it´s hard to imagine any of that album´s songs staying on the set list.>>
Forgive me - but what are they talking about? Where have they been?
Surprise has been praised from all quarters as being a return to form, best album in 20 years, groundbreaking, etc, etc.
The album has been selling very well (especially here in the UK) it has had lots of airplay, it has produced a hit single and songs like ´Outrageous´, ´...Northeast´ and in particular ´Wartime Prayers´ are likely to become favourites.
Even songs that are not on the setlist like ´Once upon a time there was an Ocean´ and ´That´s Me´ are truly delightful. |

 | The writer of this article obviously doensn´t like the new album, he should listen to it more than once...
If you read the reviews of the concerts in the live section a lot of people in the audience don´t know the new songs, hope this will change because of the tour, I always thought a lot of people in Amerika look to the shows where Paul performed like Ellen, CBS, SNL, Letterman.
I don´t know if the new songs and hit single Outrageous get enough airplay in Amerika. |
