 | But I have to say I have never heard them sing so out of tune as on this show.. You can really hear that they didnt care for eachother anymore. :-( |

 | Hey patata, I think it´s great that you share bootlegs from "dime" with us....
...but are you aware of the fact, that most of the bootleg-collectors and -recorders do have a problem with people who convert the files to mp3 ? Because a lossless-sourced bootleg should not circulate compressed...
Don´t get me wrong, I appreciate your work, and since I am not a bootleg collector I don´t have a problem.
But I think we should respect the wishes of a bootleg-recorder.
Again: I personally don´t have a problem with sharing of mp3-files, I even will download this show from your site, but I understand the issues of bootleg-recorders too.

 | I´ll agree that they weren´t in their best voice this evening, but some of it also has to do with the mix of this bootleg in which their voices are too "hot" (mixed too high, and not eq´d well.) I´ll bet it sounded a lot better live-- just listen to the crowd. |

 | I think its great what you´re doing here, Patata! I don´t see any reasons why you can´t share this beautiful things with other fans. Great work! |

 | Oops, sorry, the link should be back now.
Anyway I guess it may wasn´t such a good ideal to share that files from dime as Mp3 files, as Kuno said.
Of course I did know that, but though that they just don´t like that stuff to be shared on dime/bt in a non loseless format.
Anyway, I´ll keep that files on my FTP for the next 2 hours so that you can complete your downloads
(sorry for my terrible english^^) |

 | Just finished listening to this bootleg. I think they harmonized not too bad... It´s a soundboard-recording so it´s obvious that the voices sound to "naked", because the sound is taken directly from the mics. I am sure it sounded great when you were in the audience.
But you definately can hear that they didn´t like eachother very much at that time...
A few things I noticed:
On The Boxer, Art forgot to sing the second harmony that starts on "no it isn´t strange..". He sung Pauls harmony, and then tried to correct it ("upon changes..". This sounds so gay, it has to be a mistake. I am pretty sure that this wasn´t just Arties interpretation.
And the way they ended this verse "we are more or less the same"..it´so not enthusiastic ! Another sign that they didn´t like eachother, in my opinion.
A real highlight is the anji-intro to sound of silence ! Cool ! |

 | The fact that they sing out of tune has NOTHING to do with the how the sound of the bootleg is.
They sing out of tune probably because they couldt hear themselves to a 100% or that they simply had a night off. |

 | Look at the date of the show: August 22, 1983. Makes sense that they didn´t seem to be getting along. Paul Simon and Carrie Fisher wed on August 16, 1983. It´s been documented that Paul informed Art a couple of days prior to the wedding that he (Paul) was going to remove Art´s voice from the tracks for Hearts And Bones. This date is just about 1 week later. Guess that makes for a bit of the bitterness and anger you might be hearing in the songs. |

 | This is such an interesting concert. The band that had evolved from the Concert In The Park band (with a lot of changes) is a lot tighter and had developed some funky arrangements (My Little Town, Me and Julio, and Mark Rivera´s wacky solo in Still Crazy.) Also of interest is the sampled percussion of the Cecelia recording that opens the show and the synth drums that pop up every once in a while such as in the outro to 50 Ways. |
