Burned a mix of the last two albums and they actually sound very good together - would have been a classic album

1. How Can You Live In The Northeast?
2. Darling Lorraine
3. You`re the One
4. Outrageous
5. Sure Don`t Feel Like Love
6. Hurricane Eye
7. Once Upon A Timeâ?¦
8. Another Galaxy
9. I Don`t Believe
10. Old
11. Look at That
12. Seniorita With A Necklaceâ?¦
13. Everything About it Is A Love Song
14. That`s Where I Belong

(Sorry, don´t like Wartime Prayers - don´t get what the fuss is about)

Nice album title...;-)nice song order too, maybe an idea for another concert tour with 10 more songs ofcourse...;-)

I think WP speaks to a lot of people because it´s a topic of the day, there is always somewhere a war going on in the world.

I like the song although it´s not my favourite of the album.

Although the recording and performance of the two albums are quite different (i.e. the lack of really interesting, organic percussion on Surprise and the introduction of electronic effects in the latter album), I think they fit well together because the themes of the two records lyrically are very similar ` mortality, the nature of the universe, the mystery of being alive, acceptance, atonement, etc. As to Wartime Prayers, the sentiment is nice and I`m no fan of the current war, but the song is sort of dull musically and it`s jarring how he goes from talking about people scattered and beaten by war to discussing his personal desire for wisdom, etc. ` two very different songs, if you ask me, unless Paul`s place on Long Island has been bombed lately.

To me wartime prayers is not only the war in the world and the toll it takes on our soul, even the war that rages in our soul as we search with in our mind our life and destiny.

Very good Denise. I couldn´t agree more. That is how I see it. Especially as I get older. There is so much you wish you could redo.

I agree with Denise. War isn´t started by nations or religions or whatever. There are people who make that decicions for some reason. So if everybody what stop for a while and think about accepting other people and trying to do his personal life as good as possible, then a lot would be achieved.

Its funny how anti war some people are. Until they realize if it wasnt for war they would be ruled by nazis..

High Kronsk!

I think that is a much too complicated topic to try to put it in such simple assumptions.

No actually it is really quite simple.. Sometimes bad people do bad things and when they wont stop they need to be destroyed... Simple

True, but they should be stopped much sooner, not when they have become so mighty, then it wouldn´t be such a desaster, especially for the ordinary population.

good! destroy ´em all, and maybe destroy also civil people, beautiful cities and, why not, maybe rape young women and use children as human shield too. Or if you want you can get you blow up, you can choose..

It´s not simple at all.

Sitting back and letting it happen certainly seems to be the US´s attitude in light of our nation´s illegal and immoral actions. However, you have missed the entire point of being "anti-war." If all people were "anti-war" that would include genocide, so then the need to stop a genocidal government would not arise.

What does this discussion have to do with combining two albums, anyway?
