 | Now I am a huge PS fan - check out my high score on the "Advanced Quiz" but, really guys, Father and Daughter is embarassingly bad. I´ve just bought Surprise and the rest of it is growing on me. But Father and Daughter...the verse rambles on for an eternity and the chorus, when it finally arrives, is both melodically dull and lyrically inane - "Watch you shine/paint a sign" Was there ever a more facile rhyme? And what´s with the spooky kid singing backing vocals? cf St Judy´s Comet, the song to Harper on TGRS, with its self mocking " If I can´t sing my boy to sleep well it makes your famous daddy look so dumb" for a much more sophisticated tribute to a child. I am sure young Loulou will grow up to envy her half brother. |

 | I adore Father and Daughter. It has such a wonderful melody, which is appropriate for the Mode that the song is in..(music mumbo-jumbo lol) Adrian (Paul´s son who sings with him) does an amazing job and it makes the song that much better. Paul does use very facile ryhmes, but that shows up in all of his songs, not just Father and Daughter, but they are still amazing! |

 | Remember that this song was written for the animated film "Wild Thornberrys". It was perfect for that film. It wasn´t specifically written for his children though I am sure he was thinking of them when he wrote it. |

 | Exactly! You can almost tell by listening to the lyrics that Paul was thinking of his children. Gosh, this is such a great song. It makes me cry everytime I listen to it! |

 | I agree Richard. I think Father & Daughter is a lovely and sweet gift from a loving father to his daughter, which it is eventhough it was written for the film it is still aimed at Lulu (who also appears in the video)
Yes Ash you have the roight to your own opinion, but to call it rubbish is insulting to what this song stands for and not very constructive IMO. |
