In the US, Surprise jumped back up to number 40 (from 65) on the Billboard top album charts. That seems to be pretty good news.

Yes, and in Canada to 69 after 86.

In France it is 150 after 102, second week.

We should divide the countries into two different categories, those with a good musical taste and the rest.

Nevermind Nathgertsch, Claudine & Co...

In the Netherlands, in a album chart in a CD-store, it is on place 8.

I don´t think those music store charts should be taken very serious, Thomas :-)
By the way it´s 10 in Ireland after a debut at 8.
Where did you see it to be 10 in Europe, Klausi???

Hello Soren, go to google and search foe "charts all over the world". That´s where I have my informations from. Be careful, leave out airplay charts, look for the official sales-based ones.

No. 10 in Europe is ok. Many local acts of France, Germany, Italy, Spain or whatever have no chance, charting only in their home country.
F.e. in Germany there are "Rosenstolz" (nice German name, good looking woman, but must confess did not have the time or desire to hear the music.)

Thanks a lot for the info, Klausi. It appears that the european album list available on that site is completely different from the one on allcharts.org, on which the european top 20 does not have the Surprise album at all.
Anyway, this seems to be the official one, so that´s where I will be looking from now on :-)

This is great!

I`ll stop reporting about the charts, everybody can watch it.

YTO went Gold in the US, means more than 500.000 copies sold.

If Surprise goes Gold in the US, it will sell much better than YTO, which sold about a million woldwide.

Surprise is amazing! It entered the UK charts at no.4 and is still at no.4 so we know good music here in the United Kingdom.

It looks like the British are the biggest Paul Simon fans in the whole world! It is everywhere here - in all the sypermarkets as well as the record stores and book shops!
