 | Uah... how can someone write THAT much about Paul´s height in an interview, as if we all did not knew that since 40 years now (and again the writer has no sense that maybe this could hurt him a little bit)
At the time I am half way trough that ´interview´ and the only info I got was :"The large chai latte teas he`s been guzzling have, he realises, made him put on half a stone ` "
What have they been talking all about that time??? |

 | Thank you, Mimi....
Interesting article...a bit of TMI about his height and going to the bathroom....
But some interesting tidbits....that he collaborated with Eno because he was lonely of working alone....the one paragraph about theocrats and neocons whichis how I feel about our US politics....I also hadn´t thought about the idea that Paul brought about the common popularity of World Music.....how he writes a lot as he drives the kids to school....and his attitude now of not being as pessimistic...nor as optimistic.....I think we do see this mellowing in "Surprise".... |

 | Problem is Bodo, as I have found in the past, when it comes to the release of anew album the interviews are all pretty much the same. I can just imagine Paul feeling extremely bored with the same Old same old interviews!
I must admit I thought the tea part was funny! Water does it for me..hehehe! There another insight of a life less ordinary!

 | Yes Micky, the tea-water and weight part was funny... but I have to admit I already get bored by reading these interviews (can we call that interviews?). Most of the time it is for 75% a career overview (S&G, Graceland, Capeman flop, YTO was nothing, S&G reunion), then a little bit about how Paul looks today (64, bald, small, Surprise, 3 children) ...and then maybe 2 sentences about the new album...or politics.
Where are the really good in-deepth interviews today? You know, interviews where the journalist knew a little bit more about the artist than just the facts he googled before and found on wikipedia. They could at least talk about some of the song lyrics. |

 | Well Bodo, then they would have to spend some time on listening to the album before...
They have someone who does the research for the facts (and if they are wrong you can read it a lot of times on other articles, because they seem to copy it from one article to another - like the "produced by Brian Eno"-thing) and then they sit with the "Star" and have a nice chat or not.
I am rather annoyed with the fact, that there are so many wrong informations in the articles. It makes you wonder about the other articles, where you don´t have so much background info. I am afraid, that research is not very important nowadays. The google a little bit and don´t question the results that they get there.

 | I agree Bodo...I seem to remember when Paul did that VH1 thing (around Capeman) that the, so called audiance, asked questions and Paul wasn´t happy because Nobody asked anything interesting or different. It was all the usual questions and he said he was bored with them.
What it must be like, from his point of view, when he gets asked the SAME questions, it must be mind numbing.
I can remember reading someinterviews, a while back now. I think it was YTO, and each interview Paul was almost saying the same thing. And he did once request from one interviewer not to ask anything about S&G.
I can almost imagine Paul eye´s roll as someone says ´so why did you write "Bridge..."´? LOL! |
