 | So, the UK have to wait an extra month to hear the new songs? Personaly, I´ll be saving my money for an artist who respects his fans... |

 | Pure marketing by Warner Bros.
You got an extra BBC concert so do not moan around... Germany and France and many more got nothing for their wait. |

 | Going off the Jools Holland performance, I think it might have been a good move to delay the release. I´ve avoided wasting £8.99! |

 | Bob if you don´t like his music don´t post on his site. I´m from UK I don´t mind waiting. Paul was excellent on Jools Holland, Just lighten up or go listen to some other music because we´ve got better things than to listen to you moan! |

 | Actually, I do like his music. Which makes the wait all the more disappointing. If no one mentions it, it´ll happen again next time and the time after. Why should we all toe the party line? As to Paul being "excellent" on Jools Holland, I think you only need to read the other posts to realise he wasn´t. That´s not meant to criticise - I just don´t think he was comfortable in that environment. Maybe the finger needs to be pointed to his record company. How long have they been sat on the album? Why push Paul on to the "promotional" treadmill now? Wouldn´t he be able to rely on reputation and his consistent success over the years? |

 | The sad part of the answer is no, reputation is not enough anymore. Were he a press junkie, it might´ve worked but he is too humble and soft for that...
As far as the politics and economics of releasing music in different parts of the world, the Old Friends DVD was released 5 months after it was released in the US here in Australia. If you are a fan, you´ll wait or look for alternate sources.
I suggest you give Surprise a try Bob. You won´t be dissapointed. |

 | Do you really think that YOUr opinion about Pauls album has an input on his work and will change it in the future?

My answer: No. He is making music just because it means fun to him - and he is in the lucky position that enough people buy his albums. In general Surprise gets very good reviews, only some people do not like it. Face it - 9 of 10 fans think it is good.
But it is always the same story when Paul brings out a new album, there are always these fans who expect something, they expect it SOOO much that finally the are totally confused when the album is different to their expectations. And then they say it is crap.
Surprise has great songs. They are not World music, they are not folk guitar songs like he did in the 70´s, no world music - but that does not mean that they are bad. |

 | I´m from the UK and I thought that he was fantastic on Jools Holland.
The delay in the UK release date was to record the BBC 2 show an Jools Holland - it´s called logistics.
