 | amazon.com worldwide rose the price from 10,98 to 12,98 $. Nevertheless, Surprise climbed to No. 4.
At jpc, Germany it is No. 3, still only available in "one or two weeks". |

 | JPC has it as number 2 now...the first chart where I see it in front of Neil Youngs CD. |

 | what does that mean for "Surprise"? Will this affect Billboard (and other) national charts or are the internet-sales "extra charts"?
Anyway, it seems to sell not sensationally but rather well, doesn´t it? |

 | It seems as if it is sellng much better on the internet than in music stores.
I don´t know why.
But this has not much effect on the charts as we can see. |

 | It is back up to #5 on Amazon.com after being down to #7-interesting! Maybe some word of mouth or because it has been released in Europe. |

 | I never really cared how chart-positions and sales in different countries are counted. I remember Greatest Hits etc. (1977) peaked at No. 18 in the US and went Platinum there (over 1 Million units).
But with "Surprise" I know, that it desperately needs recommendations and airplay to sell.
They could have played "Hearts And Bones" and "Songs From The Capeman" the whole day, sales would have been disappointing because the music was not the taste of the majority.
Here I heard from others, that five-times hearing is necessary. The normal scheme of chorus and verse is not found, most songs have several melody-lines and tempo-changes.
So let`s not hope, that it does`t sell because of no airplay and no airplay because of poor sales.

 | Its no. 23 in the album charts according to a large supermarket chain that also sell CDs. I don´t know whether it relates just their sales (I doubt it, not the sort of supermarket to have pS fans), Irish sales or British sales (British supermarket) |
