Very good news. 14 is already a higher peak than YTO (as far as I remember!?).

Yes, YTO peaked at No. 19. But it also depends on the competition.

I hope and think from what I have heard from Fans and others, that Suprise has a longer lasting effect.

Now it will get more airplay, and hopefully enter the Top Ten.

That´s great, hope it will get higher in the next weeks.

YTO was released in the first week of October 2000 and achieved Gold (500.000 copies) in the US by January 10 2001, that means about 3 months later and sales of about 40.000 per week.

More promising is a comparison with Graceland.

Released in the last week of August 1986, achieved Gold by October 29, 1986.

Platinum by December 22, double Platinum by May 5, 1987, triple by January 1, 1988, four times by February 5, 1992 and five times Platinum by January 31, 1995.

This is the path I would wish for Surprise.

But with the release of another album in the meantime...

...or two (?), everybody loves the sound of an album in the distance, everybody thinks it`s true.

Now you can see via Billboard - charts - Top 200 Paul Simon at No. 14, as Brian announced. One place higher than Neil Young`s fourteen-days-made cash in War- album -g-

Let`s hope, that Surprise will climb. Jewel sank to No. 25 after her No. 8 debut last week.
