 | Does anyone know what he means about the "second line" when he registers to vote? I´m not from the U.S.A. and I don´t know the reference. |

 | ST, to be eligible to vote here, you need to register. Basically, you just fill out a form with your name and address and turn it in. |

 | Yes neongoddess, but ST (and me too) don´t understand the sentence
´Thing about the second line´
(what is the second line...is there something special in the 2nd line of that form or...??)
I registered to vote today
Felt like a fool
Had to do it anyway
Down at the high school
Thing about the second line
You know, felt like a fool?
People say it all the time
Even when it´s true |

 | I think he´s referring to the second line of the lyrics: "felt like a fool" |

 | My guess is, that he refers to the second line of the song ifself(felt like a fool) and that also people, who are fools, say that.

 | Much like it is here in the UK. They send out forms to your home and you have to register all people who can vote in your home. Then when it comes to voting time they send you a voting card and you must produce this in order to vote. |

 | Uh, I don´t think he feelt like a fool because he voted for Kerry...
Today I´ve just read that George Bush said it would be the best if his brother would be the next president... I sometimes have the feeling that the USA are not a democracy, they are a kingdom or something. King Bush sen. I, King George Bush II, King Bush III ....
The USA have much more intelligent persons to present this country I think. |

 | Yes, he seems to just be referring to the second line of the song.
"The USA have much more intelligent persons to present this country I think."
God, I hope so!!!! |

 | I´ll go with the answer of him referring to the second line of the song. Especially since after listening to that radio interview where he says the first 4 lines of the song were just for fun, and didn´t really mean anything. |
