What a beautiful thought.

Matthew,

I believe your analysis is, as our British cousins say, "spot on!"

Slip Slidin Away came out soon after I lost my Dad, and I always felt moved by the Father verse in that song.

To me, this song is one of many hidden jewels in this album. Some of the words in "That´s Me" can bring me to tears, besides the obvious choices of "Wartime Prayers" or "Another Galaxy".

Once Upon a Time there was an Ocean, but now it´s a mountain range - its about Global Warming!

But seriously this is possibly my favourite song on the whole album.

I still have the strong feeling that this song starts with a strange computer loop error...and I do not like that. It is the moment when Paul starts to sing - "Oncee... Once upon a time there was an ocean..."

Why is that ´Onceee´ before?

I agree Bodo, I can´t understand, it seems like a wrong start, but everybody here knows that it´s impossible.

Totally agree, Bodo. The false start is a detracting distraction.

It´s a dubbed voice singing "Once upon a time," sort of overlapping the "main" voice. I like it. Has a certain children´s storyteller kinda vibe to it.

I had the songs first only on mp3, and always thought this was a ripping error from CD. And then I thought my CD has this error too....

I would like to know what Paul say´s about this dubbed voice thing, what was his point on doing that? Most people I asked said that this sounds like an error, I hope that was not his goal?
