 | Mr. Simon[..] expressed frustration that more of his peers haven´t maintained their creative competitiveness and musical passion. He said that while he respected Neil Young, for example, he was not that excited by Mr. Young´s newer work. He did offer admiration for the sheer perseverance of the Rolling Stones, though: ´I don´t think Mick and Keith ever liked each other any better than Artie and I did, but they show other bands that it can be done, that it´s possible.´ ´That´s more interesting,´ he added, than watching Paul McCartney ´go out and play Beatles songs.´
Really hard words, but so true... Paul and Paul not the best friends I guess
;-)
[But he could also have said: That is more interesting than watching Art Garfunkel go out and play S&G songs... :-) |

 | Hm, he always says what he thinks, otherwise he doesn`t say anything. Although he did not say the same all those years.
He found friendly words for Paul McCartney several years ago as one of the best, if not the best writer of melodies ever.
But it is true. McCartney`s last album is nice, but not new, and you can say the same about Neil Young.
And if somebody would say: "Well, for somebody over 60 Mick Jagger looks quite good and is quite fit", that would not mean much for me, and surely not for Simon too. |
