 | Each year, "Time Magazine" (USA) names 100 "most influential" people in the world.
This year Paul Simon is one of them.
So now he is amongst those Bill Clintons, Osama bin Ladens and popes (there is only one, from Germany actually!).
Well, maybe, they have this contest already for 50 years or so, and cannot name the same people every year... |

 | I don`t know, also not, whether there is a rank. Have the information from a German newspaper. |

 | Nice to see some journalist is thinking about Paul again.
Although, these lists are just a collection of people choosen from a few guys in the USA..so it should be called "The 102 most important persons for the times journalists xy and z who changed the USA"
For example - why should Al Gore be important to anyone outside the USA today? And also Paul Simon... I think he is on that list because he was driving down to Biloxi last year with his mobile clinics and gave a few interviews then+ appeared at all the Hurricane concerts, but believe me, not anyone outside the USA (except we few crazy people) knew about that.
(why are there 102 people on the list, and not 100? - I have counted them)

 | Well, as much as I am a fan and consider Paul Simon one of the greatest composers in music...
Rachael Ray is also on the list....
So a grain of salt is helpful. |

 | They aren´t ranked. There is a place where you can vote. They only show the top five. |
