If the rumour is true that Paul will play less of the well-known stuff on the tour which songs will you not mind losing and which will you miss?

Not mind losing...
Still Crazy
Bridge Over Troubled Water
Mrs Robinson
Call Me Al
50 Ways

I´ll miss...

Boy In The Bubble (an awful lot)
Late In The Evening
Diamonds
Graceland
Me And Julio

For me pretty the same, but I would miss You Can Call Me Al - and would not miss Graceland.

But when he really has no horn section it could be that he will not play all these songs (Al, Diamonds, Late In The Evening, The Coast, the cool cool river...) or with total new arrangements. (please no rock version of Al :-) )

I would like if he would do a TV-special in England to buy on DVD in good sound even more than a tour.

We have

YTO Paris 2000 = great.
CP 91 on VHS and CD.
1993 unplugged illegal, bad sound.
Illegal Tower Theater 1980 in Mono and bad sound.
S&G 2003 mostly trying to imitate themselves except Homeward Bound

There he should perform what is not on the above, such as

Slip slidin`away, Mrs. Robinson,
70-`s songs, Oh Marion, How the heart

I really can miss:

Still crazy
The Boxer
Bridge
Late in the
You can call
Kodachrome
Sound of silence
Fifty ways

Maybe he could do Late as on the VH1 special with John Mayer?

You are right Matthew, that was a great version on VH1.

And also we know what a good synthesizer piano can do today (like the You Can Call Me Al flute solo Tony is doing now for many years on the synth..)

I would really like to see Late In The Evening and Kodachrome live, just so I could cheer at the "stepped outside to smoke myself a j" line :)

I could probably do without Bridge or 50 Ways.

I also think he should do a TV special first and release it as a DVD - especially to promote the tour, most bands do so.
In 2000 the time was too short, Paul needs some shows to warm up and get the right feeling and arrangement for every song (so I also think the first concerts in England will be too early maybe if he should play there in May?)

But the real problem is always the production process later. It always takes more than 1 year until these live DVD´s are released by Paul. And I guess thats his fault, he wants to control everything and does not find the time. (YTO Paris was released way too late, it should have been better released to promote the US tour in summer 2001, the S&G DVD was released in fall 2004... )
A live DVD or CD BEFORE the longest leg of the tour would make so much promotion, but they (Paul?) have not understand that till today. They think people will not go to the concert if they have the DVD, but it is exactly the other war round - when you have seen it on your TV you are hungry to see it live.

Still crazy is my most favourite PS song, I really surprised that so many people think different.

there is no particular songs I like him to drop maybe the S&G songs and seperate himself from the past esp when we´ve had a recent concert tour with just those songs.

Songs to be included:-
more from Hearts & Bones and the Capeman albums.

Hopefully I may have helped promote H&B. I organised a meeting on Allergies recently and used a coulple of lines from Allergies as the title.

BTW bodo Love the new title music

Bodo,

Wasn´t the YTO DVD released in early 2001, before the summer tour?

Might a recording of a concert of the same string not dampen the curiosity for the sound and set of a concert? I´m always disappointed to hear the exact same thing as the recordings exhibit. makes you feel as though you´re not really being sung to.

You are right Joey. Now I remember exactly, I ordered my first DVD from the USA - Region 1 and that was in March 2001. I could not play it then. The Region 2 release was much later..on amazon.de it says January 28, 2002

It might damp it for us a little bit - because we all will go - but it is also a big advertising. And live it always sounds better than on TV (at least for me)
