 | Do you think there will be a new S&G Tour? Garfunkel is comming to Europe soon but Simon is not playing concerts, is he?
I would like to see them, even if I have to go far away from here. |

 | I´m hoping that Paul will tour to accompany his new CD release...so thats not going to be anytime soon???
Let´s face it, once Arties has finished his new Tour and Paul embarks on his after the CD will there ever be a time when they will have chance to Tour again??? Art´s voice isn´t what it used to be. As a group I think their best is behind them.
They´d both be better touring on their own where they can both use their own arrangements to fit their ageing voices! The days where they could just sing the Old harmonies the way we are soo used to is maybe passed...! Personally I thought Old Friends Tour sounds a little strained in places! |

 | You know Artie (I´m making a really ugly joke now), peoples ability to hear good decreases when they get older, especially between the age of 80 and 115. So the fans don´t hear the difference :-) Also older people can´t hear high tones, so they can´t tell the difference if Art is really singin that high note, or if they just can´t hear it anymore :-) As long as they can see a funny wig and a very small guy with a guitar, everything is okay, must be S&G.

 | Yes of course.
As most of us here do.
What do you want, they already toured for 2 years now, sang every night the same setlist... Is there any other more boring band who has no new song since 35 years but still tours to promote their last album (Bridge) which has been released 35 years ago?

 | True! But as long as there are people like me discovering S&G´s music at the age of 21 and younger then those 35yr Old tunes still sound fresh!
Touring isn´t necessarily just about promoting an album, its about pleasing fans, enjoying the buzz recieved from playing music live and proving that people still want you! The fact that 600,000 came to the Coliseum in 2004 shows that people still want S&G.
Look at bands touring these days, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Queen. None of these sound as good as they did in their prime, but the fact they can all STILL fill stadiums and huge arenas is a testament to their status. Simon & Garfunkel are not different...they can still fill arenas and take their music to a new audience (even if it is the same music) so why shouldn´t they!!
Plus there are few musicians quite a vain and longing for acceptance as Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel...I would have though they if anybody would want to ensure they are still appreciated!!
(Sorry this rant went on a bit!!) |

 | But we all enjoyed the last S&G tour, didn´t we ?
I remeber a nice guy from Austria who even took a flight to the States to see them performing together ;o)
But I´d prefer a Simon solo tour as well ! |

 | "The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Queen. "
You said it, the music buisness is f.... dead.
And when Paul will also join this group of death musicians I´ll give him up.
Music is not just pleasing fan´s, at least not for the musician. Or Paul could have given up songwriting in 1965 and sing this ´Soft Parachutes´ tune (SOS) till today. |

 | The problem is, Paul is sooooo slow in releasing his album and going on tour, that suddenly a hand full of new fans become Old enough to ask again for a S&g tour because the other one was suuuch a long time ago...brrrr

 | I don´t think they will fill whole stadiums again, because the last tour was 20 years ago they could but not after the OF tour of 2003/2004.
Thereby it would be bad for AG´s voice, he had a hard time singing in these big stadiums, his voice fitts better in small music halls.
But the OF tour was good for AG´s popularity, his solo tour takes place in bigger music halls as it used to be, so maybe he wants another OF tour again in some years...;-)
