 | Today I got the DVD S&G Broadcasting live.
It was interesting to see that they used my own produced S-VCD for the S&G 1966 Haarlem clips.
But they didn´t make a good job on converting it to DVD format, lost a lot of sharpness again(I don´t know the english word now..crispness?).
What makes me sure about that? Well this (earlier) version had an error, the picture is not full frame. I used a wrong capture size when converting it from VHS to digital video and captured only 640*480 pixels, when the input had a size of 768*576 pixels. You can see that (when you know it) because sometimes Art Garfunkel is only HALF on the picture (the cut goes trough his face..no one will film it that way ;-) .. or Pauls guitar is cut on the bottom. (You miss about 20% of the full picture on the right side and at the bottom).
Also there are some typical picture errors (distortion for some seconds) I know them exactly from my first SVCD version - later I captured the VHS again and could avoid these distortions.
Well, I made another DVD some months later for myself, with much better picture quality.
But you can be happy with the sound quality, I have erased all white noise (much better than the other S&G videos on that DVD, except the official clips they have stolen from the "20 years of SNL DVDs" and the "Dick Cavett" DVD´s)
I wonder a little bit how these DVD´s (Broadcasting, Bridge) can be sold in official online stores so easely.
I´ll sell this copy on ebay now. |

| If someone is interested in that DVD let me know, I paid around 15 Euros for it all together, you can have it for 10 :-)

 | Bodo, are the harlem clips "only" clips of a few songs, or is it the complete show ? Can you share your 2nd version (with correct picture size) with us ?

| i´ll download this DVD tomorrow i suppose. so if anyone wants to watch it, i can send you the .torrent file.
but i didn´t like this dvd - the quality is very bad and the videos are not so special. They had much better :(((( And the people who made it - i can´t say that they´re devoted fans. IMHO |

 | I bought this DVD, and have to say that the quality of the production is rubbish... If it wasn´t for the genius that is PS and some interesting clips, I would have been very cross. It is just made out of downloaded and unauthorised content.
I had the same experience with a James taylor DVD, and sent it back! |
