 | Hey Jessi, what can be more inter-active than cathing our mobile telephones thrown at him and using them during "Proof".
And I know that he loves it when we sing "Call Me Al" back at him.
But Gods.....does he look gay when he does his "flowing movements"! Especially on the quiet tracks from YTO. I think all that started with the "sign of the tea-spoon", "sign of the wave" things from DOTSOHS.

 | May I ask why no one is defending Paul Simon in this thread???
Thats really strange, it is serious what I said, no jokes like in the Art Garfunkel thread. Why do the defenders of Art not defend Paul the same way?
Sorry to say that, but in general I often think the PS fans have much more sense of humour, and can also laugh if someone makes jokes about themself, while most of the AG fans get very angry when you just write one not so nice sentence about their hero.
Don´t take everything sooo serious, live is much easier than you might think. People who take everything too serious start very strange things (see what the islamic word is doing at the moment just because of some cartoons... a lot of people had to die because of that) |

 | In my opinion, Bodo, it´s not only a matter of lack of humour. I think that most of Artie´s fans have developped a kind of inferiority complex that pushes them to immediately and quite violently react when we are about to say something true but maybe not nice enough about Art. We (Paul´s fans) are confident enough concerning Paul´s talent and we don´t care hearing that is too bald, too short, too shy, too cold and so on (we can even laugh about it ! :-)). |

 | But why creating a thread about Artie just to say how much you can´t see him ? Even it´s a joke...
I don´t think that anyone here just thought to create such a thread about Paul (before the one about Artie).
I could also say that that´s Paul Simon´s fans who have an inferiority complex, because of the fact that people, in general, assimilate PS with Artie : "who ? aaah Paul Simon, the guy with Garfunkel/the funny haired other guy"... you know ?
And I could say that all of these jokes about Artie are a KIND OF revenge about this...
Personally, I *Love* Simon & Garfunke, AND Paul Simon (I even think Paul´s solo stuff is better than Artie´s, and I don´t really like Artie´s solo stuff...) but I don´t see why creating a thread "10 reasons..." is funny... |

 | Bodo, to make the situations parallel, you´d need to ask how people here might react if someone on the AG website had created a thread about Paul being annoying out of the blue. If people here had known about that, and joined in, then you would have Proof that Paul Simon fans have the kind of sense of humour you are claiming for them. |

 | Well mwami, thats the freedom of speak (or how it is called).
I think I will not be involved into this situation because I don´t read on other forums what people think about Paul Simon, but I believe when they write that, then it´s the truth for them. And at least if they bring out some truth and even funny points, then it is nothing I can be angry about.
Anyway I was angry some years ago when a german comedy talk show host made a joke about Paul Simon having sex with children - I think you understand what I mean, he told a big lie to 1 million people..not even a lie, it is ugly and against the law ...against everything our society believes - and there was absolutely no connection to Paul Simon. |

 | Ehm Panda, I think we´ve quite often made fun about Paul before (his height, his hair etc. )... |

 | This is something I´ve always wondered about. Being so young, I haven´t had a chance to actually get to know him at all.
Is he really not very interactive? That´s so sad. But had I been born like 40 years earlier maybe I would have been luckier. |

 | I´m not an Artie fan, I find his music too lush, I just didn´t bother to reply to this thread. I replyed to the Artie one because it seems to be a consten thing here to poke fun about Artie.
I personaly, and I have a very good sense of humour, don´t find this kind of thread funny.
I don´t like people poking fun at me and so I don´t do it with others. Maybe it has something to do with working with kids and being a victim of it myself in the past. Paul may have all these querks, and maybe he annoys people in one way or another, who doesn´t. But at the end of the day none of us know either of them or about their friendship.
In my job we are told never to assume anything until you have all the facts. I think the same goes for this. We don´t know them, so assume nothing.
Blessings
