 | I would buy any new Paul´s new album whatever could be its title but come on, a nice cover and a nice title wouldn´t cost much more !! |

 | can´t see the picture bodo! (or is that just my laptop?)
Surprise... I guess we´ll just have to remind ourselves that YTO had a very unexciting title and still turned out to be a great album.
but the release date - it´s not even listed for june, it´s listed under TBA! |

 | that is really interesting news. i dont really mind ´Surprise´ being the title, if it is. it is a very different choice than past albums titles. most of all, i am sure that paul has a really great reason for calling this album surprise. he isn´t someone to just do something without thinking.
sadly the album IS listed under To Be Announced. so it might have actually been pushed back further than June ... or possibly moved up? dear god, are they waiting for him to pass away so that the album sells will be higher or something? this wait is getting a tad rediculous. im hoping that I will live to see its release now!! |

 | No news of any single to come before the album yet. Does this mean PS has given up on the idea of having one more major hit??? Also no news in the music press yet - so can we pretty much ignore March as a possible date for a new release? |

 | that´s what i am assuming. it went from being march to To Be Announced. who knows what that means. it could mean that they haven´t made up their mind yet, but it could come out in a month or two ... it could also mean that it could come out next Christmas time! i can´t even imagine what is holding them up this time and for so long.
sorry, hurricane. bad news feeling. |

 | Hmmm...maybe if Paul stopped doing all these small little concerts the album would get done faster. |

 | yeah, i think that the album has been done for a while now, as well. i can´t imagine what is holding them up. art work? it looks like they are having a difficult time deciding on a title for the album, maybe that has somethign to do with it.
one other idea is that maybe paul is pushing for more of a financial backing for the album, but is having a problem with the label. he has made it clear that he likes selling lots of albums so maybe he wants them to do more to advertise for it, but they dont think it is worth the amount of money that he would like for it. that is a pretty detailed idea, but i think that it is a possibility.
i dont know, im just trying to make this waiting period interesting. any other incredible ideas? :^) |

 | I think you´re probably right. To link in with my earlier post... it was documented a few years ago (before YTO) that Mr Simon was really keen to have just one more smash hit - just to prove (to himself I think) that he could if he wanted - hence, I think, "Old" - which was out of keeping with the rest of the album - an excellent song and beautifully crafted - but the album´s attempt at a commercial single. I believe it was released in the US and UK as a single but didn´t get anywhere. I suspect that there will be at least one ´similar´ (ie commercially attractive) song on the album to come and maybe PS is trying to persuade Warner Bros to part with some of their promotion cash. Let´s face it - the singles market is not buoyant and if Warner Bros did put some scheckels into marketing for a single it could stay at number one for months - they just have to tap the right market... Maybe this is the hold up - you´re probably right... |
