Yes, I agree, this would be a remarkable loss of seriousity, therefore I hope they won`t leave their enormous way of success.

I ordered S&G records on ebay recently. At first I got the wrong ones, so I wrote to the seller. The next day already the right ones arrived with a stamp to send the others back.

This experience was good because the seller was very nice and apologized and so.

Things like that happen.

I saw a Capeman poster on ebay for 1 cent...
The shipping costs would have made it about $15 though.

Not serious!

Most sellers make postage higher to save ebay-charges resp. get them back. But not to this degree!

Some sellers took the official price of, let`s say, a concert-ticket as basis on which one had to bid on top. So you thought you could go to a sellout-concert for 30 Dollars and had to pay the official 90 plus 30. But I think, this is forbidden now.

Well, I bought the Brian Wilson Tribute DVD for 1 Cent, and 8$ shipping from Hongkong.

I don´t have a clue whats the sense of selling an item for 1 Cent...but I got the DVD and everything was fine, 8$ shipping is a normal price.

15$...well this might be a little bit more than usually, but when they send the poster in a roll it will also cost more than just a letter. Usually a unused poster cost around 20 - 25 $ + shipping, so 15.01 would be a good price.

Has anyone a clue how it makes sense selling something for 1 Cent?

Many auctions start with 1 cent, when Nobody is bidding, it remains, but are it so many where you can buy the article definitely? I don`t know too.

I sold several older books, gifts I didn`t need, but always started with one Euro.

they sell 10 or more at the same time...all for 1 Cent, no one is bidding. Doesn´t make sense for me... I mean if 1 person per week would buy it, then I make a price of let´s say 6$, and offer only 1 DVD. (then I don´t have to sell 600 DVD´s to earn 6 $...uuh)

it is really strange.

Well, this guy sells cheap asian copies of dvd´s and cd´s and seems to have around 20 sales a day. So if he makes just a few dollars a sale (which he probably does - I´m guessing he overprices the postage a bit, afterall), he seems to have quite a good business going for himself...

But earning around 20 - 40 Dollars a day isn´t really a good business. And a shipping price of 7,99$ worldwide seems to be ok, it is very expensive these day´s.

Yes Bodo, this is strange. They have around 360 auctions running currently. And packing and shipping means costs and labour, no automation possible.

If it is not for getting positive replies and making unfair and more expensive deals from time to time, this is a hard way of earning your food...

Its weird sometimes...I see a lot of autographed Simon and Garfunkel pictures on ebay and one in particular was $9.99...but the same one appeared like 5 times. So it makes me wonder, is the guy just photocoping the original or is he just signing them himself? Because I also see ones that are like $100 and they come with a "certificate of authenticity" and there was this one where the seller said something like "You want to know why other autographed pictures are so cheap? Because its not expensive to sign them yourself!"

"certificate of authenticity"

Does Paul give away that certificate with every autopraph he makes? :-)

Yeah no kidding...with every autograph he pulls one out of his pocket or something..."now this says that I actually autographed this, in case you´re planning on selling it" :)
Holy crap if I had anything Paul signed I would put insurance on it and take it to the grave with me!!

Okay guys...I finally watched OTP, like 3 weeks after I got it :) You know, school and work and such. Plus it took me a half hour to hook up my vcr.
Anyway I really liked it, I found the ending to be kinda dumb though. I loved how he interacted with his son and the characteristic dry wit, and the dead rock star game with the band members. Its really weird though, because the "Love scenes" made me kind of uncomfortable, I don´t know why. I mean when I watched "Bad Timing" the ones there had no effect on me :) but these ones...well uncomfortable is maybe the wrong word. I just felt kind of funny watching them. Like that one scene where him and that record guys wife go up to the hotel room, nothing happens and one part of my brain thought "phew!" and the other part thought "that wouldn´t necessarily be a bad thing to see though..." I don´t know. I´m a little weird sometimes...overall a great, highly underrated movie.
