 | Well, 37°2 le Matin (Betty Blue)is a hot movie, for sure, but I don´t see Paul playing with Béatrice Dalle at all ! lol ! |

 | Must confess I don´t know anything about this movie 37.2. Is it the outside temperature ( in Celsius) during a hot Love, or the inside (which is normally a little bit lower)? Or something else?
In his 1978 special, Chuck (Grodin) tries to explain to Paul`s girlfriend Lill (Lilly Tomlyn), that Paul has a very important special the next day, beginning with "I don`t know what the nature of your relationship is..." |

 | You have a point there.....that would be a little scary.
And about the movie...it was good, but the book was better! Philippe Djian is one of my favorite French authors.
Paul and Edie should read some of his work. I bet they´d have a lot of fun afterwards! :) |

 | by the way babydriver (cute name!) unfortunately, OTP does not, to the best of my knowledge, exist on dvd yet. I have not figured out why they will put crap movies like Battle Field Earth or Gili on dvd, but not the good stuff like Paul´s Concert In The Park or OTP! |

 | Well the request for a movie like OTP only comes from around let´s say 300 people on earth... thats the problem.
I don´t know why the never released the CP91 concert on DVD. Thats more than stupid. |

anyway, they should really re-release it on dvd, i mean, they´ve also re-released the live at the tower show theatre video.
maybe they are really busy with mixing in Cecilia on the dvd? |

 | Really, Denise? From where do you have that info? I have never heard that before and consider myself well informed when it comes to Paul Simon DVD releases... |

 | SHE´S RIGHT!!!!! I remember seeing it! But here is the problem, the one I saw was for laser disk. Laser disc was the precurser to the dvd. If anyone here remembers, in the late 80´s early 90´s are when they first started coming out. They stopped making them about 5 or 6 years ago. Now they are collectibles. You can find them on E-bay all the time, even the Concert In The Park-91.
For all those who don´t remember laser disc, the disc was about as big as a large vinal record, but it looked like a dvd. In order to view it you need a laser disc player which, since they don´t make any more, are really hard to find.
My question is, if they can put it on laser disc, why not tranfer it to dvd? It´s almost the same thing! |

 | Well, that wouldn´t make any sense Denise.
And even if it would (IF) have been released on DVD in small numbers, we will see copies sometimes on ebay. But there aren´t any. |

 | I can´t remember the site. They had none available. I visited the site a few more times and then never went back. I had wore out one vhs tape and had just got another. I really wanted it and have never seen any other site for it. If I can find the site I will report on this site. I have been trying to find it again. |

 | Well, she´s not right then, is she? ;-)
I know about the laser disc release, but, as you say, it´s not a DVD(!).
I do remember talk about somebody (privately) transfering it to DVD, though. Does anybody here have any update on that?
Denise, I´m pretty sure there was not an official DVD release, but if you indeed saw one, it might have been something "unofficial" - maybe the result of the above mentioned transfer...
Anyway, I guess we can still hope for a release at some point. It´s really too big an event to not being available on DVD, I think. |
