 | Enough with the heated discussions of wether the upcoming album should be with or without AG participation, and let´s give the whole issue of Bodo might having to close some sections of this site a break too.
Instead, let´s agree that the album WILL come out eventually and probably with a tour following as well.
In that case, I´m asking the question:
"Which Paul Simon tune would be yours "One Man´s Ceiling Is Another Man´s Floor", on an upcoming tour?
This is to be understood as follows:
To me the only real Surprise song on the 2000/2001/2002 tours was "One Man´s Ceiling..." (one could argue that "Pledging my Love" was an even bigger surprise, but hey - that´s not a Paul Simon tune ;) ). This was very delightfull to me, as it has always been one of those songs that I liked best - not considering the obvious hits.
So I´m asking you this:
Which song would you prefer Paul to play on an upcoming tour, if you should choose from songs that are not obvious candidates for the setlist (that is, songs that doesn´t figure on one of the greatest hits album that we have seen so many of)?
I´m sure all of us has at least one song that we really wish to hear live, but that we know Paul is most unlikely to ever play again. To me, "One Man´s Ceiling..." was such a song.
Well, if you like, please give a top 3 and of course add a few comments if you feel like it.
I will start:
1. Allergies
2. Learn How To Fall
3. Think too Much (a)
Hearts And Bones has always been my favourite album, and I actually really like the songs on that album that has that "sound of the 80´s" to it, like the two songs above. "Allergies" or "Think too Much (a)" with a full band would be a deam come trough for me - but NOT very likely, I know!
For the acoustic part (if there was to be one) of an upcoming tour, I can think of nothing better than hearing "Learn How to Fall".
Your turn! ;-)

 | That´s easy for me. I have always wanted to hear these three songs live:
1. The Obvious Child
(I know it has been played live before, but not when I was present...)
2.Love
3. Allergies
Okay, two more...
4. Anji (Just to SEE him play that amazing song in person)
5. Blues Run the Game.
I know the last two would never happen, but it is still a dream! |

 | The songs he did not perform live composed after 1970 mentioned here are the two Songs From The Capeman by Scaaty and Learn How To Fall, Think to much a + b. I would Love to hear b!
Also Run That Body Down, Peace Like A River, Congratulations, Tenderness, St. Judy`s Comet, Was A Sunny Day, Silent Eyes with a choir, Oh Marion, How the heart approaches and..............
never ending story. Some of them he played in 1984 or before.
I was as glad and surprised about One man`s ceiling..., fitting perfectly in 2000 without any sign of nostalgia. Many people surely thought of it as a quite new song. |

 | Very good, people.
I know this is kind of a silly thread, somewhat in the same category as the ever returning "what is the best song ever written?"-or-the-alike-threads seen on almost any music site regularly, but I still think it´s kind of funny to hear what you all think, and I hope you have a bit of fun considering which song would be yours "One Man´s Ceiling...".
I can see that most of you are cheating by either writing more or less than 3 songs, but I´ll let that slide ;-)
So, lets hear some more...
(It seems to me, that we all have quite unrealistic hopes, but hey, what can you expect from the hard core fans?).
P.s. Ans, Spirit Voices was played a lot on the 2002 tour, wasn´t it? I don´t think you can ask for that one again :)
Bernatte would be fantastic!

 | I agree with "The Vampires" as a choice, only to hear Paul swear in public :) but another choice would be "Sleepy,Sleepy Baby" I heard it recently and fell in Love with it. |

 | in no particular order...
think too much (a): i agree with this choice, i reckon paul could really make us laugh if he coupled it with his quirky humour.
Kathy´s Song: it´s such a beautiful song! he´s probably sung it live before, but the only time i´ve heard it is on the Old Friends dvd and art sings it instead
and Further To Fly, or maybe senorita from yto.
it´s an interesting thread actually, because i´m just trying to think whether i prefer the sweeter, mellow songs in concert or whether the more upbeat and fun ones where you can see paul moving around the stage and stuff. obviously a mixture is ideal, but if you had to pick between the two, what would you choose?
