 | Can anyone confirm what - the only living - has posted in the news?
If the source will not be named the news should better be deleted, please no speculations or rumours in the news section. |

 | no one can confirm reading this anywhere? (Art Garfunkel will sing on 3 songs on Simons new album)
(Well, I really hope this was a bad joke... I can hear the people screaming: go on tour together, go on tour... ) |

 | I think it´s a bad joke, nothing about it is said in the other forums. You should remove it from the news section Bodo before people start screaming...;-) |

 | Still, it would be kind of nice if it was true - simply because it mentioned Feb or March as a release date.
I´m tired of waiting! |

 | I hope it´s not true....as much as I want another Paul Simon release, I can´t see myself buying an album called Musical Palette..... |

 | I will too for sure, Bodo !! But those news seem quite unrealistic : why Paul should sing with Art on just 2 or 3 songs of his new album ? Either it´s a new S&G album (and in this case, I am not sure to buy it...), either it´s a Paul Simon album and then, Art has nothing to do on it !
And I am still very disapointed about that stupid title !! |

 | I guess it is a working title, but we have discussed that before.
The collaboration with Brian Eno made me feel that this album will be something really new, exciting and has absolutely nothing to do with his earlier works.
Art Garfunkel and Paul together would be 10 steps back.
Anyway, the news sounded for me as a nice joke - and as we want only confirmed news in that section (I recently deleted this instruction..my fault) I have deleted it. There is no other source, and a reliable source could be anyting for some persons, even a Buddha statue or a cat´s fur.
Does anyone know what AG is doing at these times...? (Hope he is walking trough the Taiga or something like that) ;-)

 | Hehe, yes but I´m almost sure he would let them fall on the floor immediately if Paul called him asking to sing on his new album...Art will do ANYTHING for Paul ;-) |

 | Do you really buy your albums because of the title? "Paul Simon" is a terribly boring title. Should no one have that album?
Paul and Art recorded "My Little Town" together and put it on their solo albums. So better forget the album "Still crazy ..."? Paul played guitar/sang background on one of Art´s songs. (I believe "In cars") Should you ignore all songs that have even a remote connection to Art? Burn all Simon and Garfunkel CDs immediately? Erase Art on all the pictures on which he appears together with Paul?
Can´t we accept that Paul and Art seem to have social contact again and may "work" a little together?
The former members of the Beatles didn´t seem to have a problem with playing with one or two of the other Beatles without reforming the group. They just wanted to do it and had some fun. That can be inspiring as well.
I am guilty of having made fun of Art, too. But I think we should behave in a more mature way.
What would Paul think of us, if he read this thread? I feel somewhat embarrased about that.
Sorry if I sound like a spoilsport, but I am disappointed about the reactions here.
P.S.: I prefer a new Paul Simon album over a S&G, but I would buy a S&G album as well, because Paul would put so much artistic value in it. I will always appreciate that. |

 | I am the same as you Nathalie and Bodo, I wouldn´t like it to be an S&G album but it doesn´t mean I wouldn´t buy it...
I would Love it to be a Paul Simon album with 1 S&G track like My Little Town on Still Crazy. I think that would more than likely increase publicity for the album and make it more likely Paul will do a big tour and win awards.
I don´t care what it´s called. I think You´re The One is a rubbish title but the album is great :) |
