 | Thank you.
Is there a special reason why he does not mention the word Gumboots at all in the song?
Now it looks as if he came up with a song and didn´t know a title and then just thought: well let´s use the word Gumboots..

 | Please read the introduction to "Graceland" written by Paul Simon himself.
(The term refers to the heavy boots miners and railroad workers wear on a job and is used to describe thy type of music favored by them).
It was in the title of the album Heidi Berg gave to Simon, which led to the whole project, and probably Simon wanted to use it for this similarly sounding song. |
