Don´t worry. Nobody´s offended. I was just trying to provoke a little, because it seemed to me that everyone idolized this man so much (I do it too). That´s why I started the "Paul an sich" thread. Of course, this man has a gift. But everyone has and it´s your task to find out what´s yours. Paul Simon has this tremendous gift of patience and self-reliance that enabled him to master his art. Has anyone read Walter Yetnikoff memoirs Howl at the moon?? He wouldn´t be a no 1 fan of our Paul. He says some really nasty things about him and maintains Artie got a raw deal from Paul.

Cos Paul wanted to go out on his own. this guy maintained he used Artie to get famous and then dumped. At least that was what he was implying - don´t quote me. If you see the book in a bookshop - its in most main ones - just read the pages related to Paul ( check index) there are just a paragraphs.

I know some of that may be true, but I think the rest of it is crap. Paul would have been famous even without Artie, though I know it did help. Talent like that can´t lie dormant for long. It would have been recognized. For example, how has Artie´s solo career been? Can anyone here name some major songs or albums that are still around other than Bright Eyes or I Believe When I Fall in Love? Most of his ( in my opinion) solo work has been.....well, to put it frankly, crap!
Now,let´s look at Paul´s solo work, in fact,I really don´t think, because of this site I really have to offer it, you all know what I mean. The real talent is there. There is a lot more than just being a pretty voice. I think that it is Art, who has a lot to thank Paul for.
I will look for that book. Thanks for the info!
