German TV channel PRO7 will show the
Shelter from the storm benefit concert Friday night between 02:00 and 3:00 and Saturday morning between 9 and 10.

I´m sure other countries will also show this concert - at least if Paul will appear in that 1 hour part, someone will record it and share it online later I hope.

I have a problem, Saturday morning I´ll start my vacation for 1 week, so I´m not sure if I can watch it :-(

Check out your local TV station for this show - or maybe in countries around Germany you see PRO7 ?

I think I´ll turn on my PC and let ir record from 0 ... till I wake up in the morning. Hope that works for such a long time, the quality is much better when I record it direct onto the PC than when using a VHS recorder.

Well, I´m hoping the BBC will show it later like they did the 9/11 telethon. I started to watch it on the net, as it´s being played live on that. But it´s not very good, the pic breaks up and the sound cuts out. It´s not me, the pic thing is really weird, it´s like when it goes stupid on yopur TV and you get static and bars across the picture.

Also, it´s now 2.25am GMT..well BST time should I say and I´ve been up since 5:30am. SO I need my sleep. I´ve seen Paul´s performance and it was lovely, I even liked the jazz band at the end. His performance was haunting, a reflection, I guess, of his visit over the last few days.

Going by what I saw there was some excellent performances.

I am curious of one thing, and I´ll need someone to let me know. Any sign of Artie?

He didn´t perform on the 9/11 show, so I´m curious to see if he´s here. Or is his recent drug charge going to get in the way?

well, I´m off to bed guys for some well earned sleep...it´s been a looong day!

Night!

Paul´s performance ´Take Me To The Mardi Gras´ with afterwards the jazz band is an honour to New Orleans and the people who live there and going to such terrible times now.
Paul alone with his guitar, tapping his foot, singing Mardi Gras, was great to see.

Someone in one news article said Paul and Sheryl Crow weren´t in good voice. Well, I can´t comment on Sheryl as there was no sound during her performance. But Paul sounded great IMO.

On other news, apparently Micheal Jackson is releasing a new single in aid of the victims. It´s called something like "I give you my heart," or something as stomach churning....less said.

Sorry to any fans of Mr Jackson..but I´m not a fan.

Blessings

All these acts except Simon were not on this show - is there another one?

Paul Simon`s voice was in good shape, his guitar playing excellent, but he missed the last line ("You can mingle in the street, you can jingle to the beat of Jelly Roll".), hummed and repeated it. Wonder why he did not repeat the whole song, would have been no problem. The big (and great!) jazz band came after a short pause.

But maybe it was just to show, that everything about this tragedy was and cannot be planned.

The song is one of very few Simon-songs to show just enyoing life and was written exactly for this place.

I like the interview with one of the musicians on the Original "Mardi Gras" record. When the session musician asked Simon how he should play his part Simon said...."There´s NO WAY he doesn´t get to go"!
