 | Paul plays several different guitars.
Live he uses a set of black Yamahas ("FJ681 Paul Simon"). They were produced in the ´80s. He also uses the more recently produced Martin "Paul Simon" custom made (a special version of the classic "000" Martin - I think you can find some news about this in the web). With Art Garfunkel he also used a 12-string Martin (and in the sixties, several other Martin models, like the D-28).
In the studio he also uses his favorite guitar, an acoustic Gurion.
Some electric guitars are also part of his gear. Some Sadowsky guitars, a heavily modified Fender Stratocastes, and during the tour with Dylan also a Parker. Amplification is usually done through a Fender DeVille amplifier.
Ciao. |

 | True.
The use of Ovation guitar, however, was limited to a relatively short period of time. Until the tour for One Trick Pony (1981-81) Simon used a Gibson Les Paul (electric) and during the 1983 concerts with Garfunkel (and the recording of Hearts And Bones) he already used the black Yamahas.
The black Ovation Legend used at the Central Park was given, as a gift, to Carrie Fisher, who sold it recently, by means of an auction. |

 | What make of guitar was the $25.00 model that he used to go round to the studios in New York with Garfunkel in the 50s? He mentions this in an interview. |

 | BingFrisby, you overestimate my knowledge... ;-)
Yes, sand, I can play a bit of guitar. Actually my instrument used to be the bass, but I can manage a little bit of guitar playing.
Last message for the moment... I´ll be away for some weeks.
Have a great time and let´s hope for good news with the new album! |

Could someone please post the chords to the Paul Simon song "Hobo´s Blues"?
Much appreciated |

 | There were 2 Martin Paul Simon models produced. The first one was an OM size...not sure about the second one. 250 models of the original OM42PS model were produced.PS kept about 10 of them I think and it is this model that he often plays live. I can´t miss the opertunity to add that I own one of them!! There are at least another 2 of them owned by AMPS members. Wonder where the other 237 are ? |
