 | Are there really Sketches on these DVD´s?
I only bought the 2DVD set (Michael Mittermeier) and it runs for over 8 hours. (makes 420 minutes)
But these are only music clips ..and ok the Turkey Sketch, but because it´s a music-sketch. |

 | I bought it today, will tell you then. Please allow some time, have no much time next weeks.
Also don`t know about region and so on.
But you can see all 57 songs listed at JPC.
The Boxer is from 1975 I guess. Diamonds from the show with R. Williams 1986.
Nice weekend! |

 | I ´ve just checked.
Thats strange.
The 5 DVD box has 57 tracks
The 2 DVD box 42 Tracks.
But only on the 2 DVD set the Turkey clips is listed.
I think the 2DVD set from Mittermeier might have some more music-sketches (like Andy Kaufmann, or the Frank Sinatra/Bono Sketch..they are really great) |

 | Got the 5 DVD`s today. The sketches are listed on every DVD, the only one with Simon is the Turkey-sketch. Tone-quality is very good, it is released by TDK, whether legalized or not.
The Boxer is live but week in my eyes, Diaomonds half-playback.
So nothing for Simon-fans, only if you also like the other songs and sketches.
Buy the (probably NTSC!) VHS-tape from the first SNL-show after September 11/2001 instead, where Simon delivers a great version of the boxer. Sometimes and at the moment offered at ebay. |

 | I do Love the other performances, like from the Blues Brothers, the Joe cocker sketch, the Bono and Sinatra sketch or Andy Kaufmann... They are really great.
For Simon fans - well it includes 3 songs (the are even on the double disc version, so it might worth it), but the Turkey sketch is a must-have.
If they start offering the SNL show on DVD I´ll maybe buy one - it shouldn´t be a problem for them...and they will sell much more I guess.

 | The official release of SNL-shows would be great.
But consider the vast material since 30 years.
Paul Simon is, because of his friendship with Lorne Michaels, the guest with the most musical performances, more than 10 times anyway. Not typical for him! As the frequent appearences in sketches. |
