I recently bought a DVD of the S&G concert "Old Friends" containing a version of American Tune. I was wondering if there are any mp3s of this live version available as I´d like to have this song on my iPod shuffle.

Thanks

Hmm... I´m hoping this is a bad joke, but in case it isn´t, I´ll let you know that the concert is also available on cd - including "American Tune". So getting it on your iPod shouldn´t be much of a problem :)

Or create your own CD from the DVD soundtrack...

What connection to you have?

It should also work with a normal 56k modem - but it will take a long time- 30 minutes for 5MB or so...

Nik, i use Audacity, a software you can find freely on the web (Google search)...but maybe there are better softwares for that...
At that time, my computer couldn´t play DVDs, so i connected my DVD player with my hifi system which was itself connected with my computer...but if your computer has a DVD player, i think you just have to play the DVD...you can record the soundtrack with Audacity and create MP3 or Wave files...the only problem is that you have to cut yourself the soundtrack song after song because Audacity doesn´t recognize the different chapters (the songs in this case), so it records the sountrack in one big file...so, not very practical...

But there is a version of it on the multimedia page of this site, isn´t it?

It wasn´t meant to be a joke. I am aware that it is available on CD as well, but given that I only wanted one song (which I already own in another format) I can´t really justify shelling out another £12 for the CD version. I was hoping someone might be able to help me out, as I have no idea how to create mp3s from DVDs
