The Paul Simon, Queen´s college rehersal, 1964 is great, but the version I have plays at the wrong speed.Anyone any idea if there is a copy which has not been tampered with and plays at the right speed?

Well, I have the concert and for me it is played by the right speed. But I´m not a specialist in that kind of things, so there is a good change I have the concert with the wrong speed too.

I know what you mean, Thomas. I know there are a few bootlegs which have been time corrected, one being the 1966 S&G Boston recording.I read this on a site which I can´t remember now. There were versions of it which were indicated as having been corrected. The version I have seems to be the perfect speed.Regarding the Queen´s College tracks, all I can think of is that the original, or further generation tape source from which it came, played at the wrong speed due to stretching and was "fixed" by whoever converted it into digital. This Recording is a rehersal....was there ever a recording of the actual Queen´s College set, or any information documenting this performance?

Is there anyway you can post this concert online? I would LOVE to hear this bootleg!

I´ve never heard of that bootleg, where did you get it.

Do you have a setlist? Quality?

I have it too, with the wrong speed, but the quality is bad, a lot of noise. It´s nice to hear it once, but not often.
Here is the setlist:

01. Anji
02. So Long Frank Lloyd Wright (instumental)
03. Old Friends/Bookends (instumental)
04. Scarborough Fair/Canticle
05. The House Carpenter Song
06. Gospel Ship
07. Pretty Boy Floyd
08. A Church Is Burning
09. The Sound Of Silence
10. Leaves That Are Green
11. The Sun Is Burning
12. Can´t Help But Wonder Where I´m Bound
13. Going To The Zoo
14. He Was My Brother

Maybe it´s possible to eliminate the noise.
It sounds interesting, and I really wonder why Richard doesn´t have it (he normaly has everything LOL)

Really funny is the children´s song "Going To The Zoo" from Tom Paxton, Paul wants the audience to sing along, which is very strange, he never does that. It´s very funny how he asks it.

Yes, Bodo, I agree with Ans about this Queen´s College recording. There is a very early bare bones version of Frank Lloyd Wright on here, showing Simon was already influenced by the samba type rhythms even by 1964.You are welcome to a copy of it from me if you like or maybe Ans would send it to you, Bodo.It is an interesting set of songs, although the quality is overall variable, yet listenable, especially as Paul provides spoken intros to the songs.

The noise reduction is possible, just remembering the fantastic job made of the re-mastered "Carlos Dominguez".The time correction, I expect would need very accurate software or equipment(and ears)!!Could the person who did the Dominguez track do anything with this recording?

Which Carlos Dominguez track? The remastered one from this homepage was done by me.

I can also make speed corrections.

I have the Queen Rehearsel 1964 concert on my computer too. Maybe Bodo, if you have msn or something I can put the songs in one WINRAR-file, and I send it to you over msn (is you have that program). Then you are able to upload it so everybody is able to download it.

"Can´t help but wonder where I´m bound" is the highlight on the concert for me!
