 | I was wondering if people would like to nominate their favourite PS songs which he´s never performed live (as far as I know). I´d go for: 1. Was A Sunny Day, which is a wonderful example of Paul´s ability to say so much in so few words: ´He was a navy man Stationed in Newport News She was a high scholl queen with nothing really left to lose.´ 2. Silent Eyes. One of his most powerful and evocative songs, describing the suffering of the Jewish people, and God´s judgement on those who´ve caused that suffering. 3. Congratulations. Paul´s first cynical look at Love. He´s only recently been able to answer Yes to the question at the end - ´Can a man and a woman live together in peace?´ |

 | I had a voting 3 years ago on this site - which Paul Simon song he never performed should he play on the next tour (summer 2002)
I can´t remember the exact order, but Rene and Georgette , All Around The World and Seniorita with a necklece of tears have been the top3 songs. |

 | The voting back then was about songs he hasn´t performed in the last 15 years. (thats why Rene... was on this list, also Was A Sunny Day and Congrulations have been on this list)
I think my favourite track would have been some of the OTP tracks - like Jonah or God bless the absentee - and also All Around The World |

 | "Was A Sunny Day" was played impressively in 1984.
I think he should choose some more songs from his first albums, regardless, whether there were played. (Who will remember and "count"?)
"One man ceiling ..." was a great part of his 2000 concerts.
"Silent Eyes" is one of his most remarkable songs ever. Very unusual for it´s time till today.
"Run That Body Down" or "Peace Like A River".
"Take Me To The Mardi Gras" or "Tenderness".
"Where the heart approaches what it yearns".
And (!) "Think too much b".
Much choices, Simon described only recently the period of 1971 to Graceland as underestimated by the public. (Although his first 3 albums were very successful, the two Grammy`s for "Still crazy" made him think he should do something more than just making music). |

 | A great topic.
1. Silent Eyes
2. Peace Like A River and
3. Some Folks´ Lives Roll Easy
Those are truly magical songs. The only reason why Paul hasn´t played Silent Eyes live is that he fears that he would destroy it or something. That´s the only reason I can imagine..
Also Papa Hobo, Congratulations, Night Game, How The Heart Approaches What It Yearns, Can´t Run But and Can I Forgive Him are great but forgotten songs from Paul´s catalogue. |

 | Papa Hobo is great too (did he ever played that in a live concert, Klausi or Bodo?) |

 | To my knowledge no. He did, however, perform it in the Tonight Show in 1972. |

 | I don´t know, whether he ever played "Papa Hobo" live. If he did so in the Tonight Show, it was daring and great, as it is not the usual hit-stuff of it´s time.
He showed again, that using unusual styles or instruments (bass harmonica, never heard before or after) is not to demonstrate musical knowledge, it just fits perfectly.
This ability was always evident, but for many critics only since "Graceland".
"Oh Marion" live would be great! |

 | He never performed Senorita with a necklace of tears? But that´s such a beautiful song! gorgeous lyrics, especially the ´if i could play all the memories´, and the ´i don´t want to be a judge´ verses. and i Love All Around The World! that was the first ps song i heard. also, he doesn´t play rots songs very much in concert does he? in my opinion that album is seriously underrated. it´s probablty my favourite album from paul. |

 | In his Concert In The Park 1991 (and on the whole tour with probably the best (17-members-!)band ever on tour, not only with him )he played:
The Obvious Child
She Moves On
Born At The Right Time
The Cool, Cool River
Proof
The Coast
and you can buy it officially as CD and VHS-tape (unfortunately not as DVD, but I think this will appear too).
ROTS is his second-best selling album, worlwide sales about 5 million.

 | thanks klausi. i´ve heard the album and it´s great. i really really wish they´d put the concert out on dvd though. the only version i can get my hands on is from the library and it´s all Old and fuzzy - it´s probably been played too many times! |
