for my humanities class we are to give a presentation on an artist of our choice but we need a biography on that person. I chose obviously to do paul, so if anyone would give me their take on a biography that´s any better than others of paul I´d appreciate it. thanks in advance

There are not many books written about Paul Simon. The ones I know are all quite good. If you want to have the most actual I would recommend Laura Jacksons "the definitve biography", although I don`t like this title at all.

Roswhita Ebel wrote a better one, but in german language.

The biography by Laura Jackson got poor reviews on Amazon, so you might want to look elsewhere. I was looking for a good bio a couple months back, but many of them are out of print. I settled on "Old Friends" by Morella and Barey. It follows S&G up to around 1990. I was hoping for more nuggets of little known information in the book, but there should be more than enough material for your presentation.

Whoops, double-post! Might as well make it a "hat-trick"

Here´s an overview of some more bios. For the Jackson book, the Amazon reviews complained about the writing style of the author.

You are right, there are better books, but (much) older.

Patrick Humphries "Bookend" was an excellent book.

He later added some more things and re-tittled the book "The Boy In The Bubble" and it was about Pauls solo career.

I´d go for the second one as it´s about Paul´s solo career. But, "Bookends" has some brilliant pictures, better than "Boy..."
