 | I have over 100 versions of El Condor Pasa, including the original los Incas full version used by S&G. Anyone got any idea of just how many actual versions of this piece of music have been recorded? |

 | I would even dare to say over 100! -

 | More concrete :
Bridge Over Troubled Water was recorded in more than 200, meanwhile possibly 300 versions. One of them was a big hit (Aretha Franklin).
El Condor Pasa certainly is bigger, because it`s for free.
And people like what`s good and for free, see this short songwriter from New York. |

 | At least they have to pay to Simon.
He can give free coffee then for his numerous sessions.
Joints are out, I think. |

 | Hehe, funny you mention this :-)
Yesterday I was walking along the pedestrian in Frankfurt and some street musicians were playing their very own version of El Condor Pasa. Took me a while to recognize it :-) It was very jazzy and original, so now there are 101 versions LOL
No, seriously - it´s nice to see that a song can get that popular. |

 | Hello Miriam, I hope you gave them a nicle or the extra dime.
To clarify: El Condor Pasa without Simons lyrics is free to sing for everybody in public or on record.
Most songs, as 50 ways, have to be paid, the money should (!) go to the composer. I mean, the rest after the right-reserving company covered their expenses. (Which are said to be too high).
When a song is played on the RADIO, it can be proven very easy, it`s therefore the most lucrative income for composers and one reason, why Simon earned so much more money than poor Garfunkel. |
