Well you see, the music industry found it interesting what some lawyers in Germany started a few months ago - so now they are going to bring some really ugly and bad people into kitchen.

This site is far better then some of the other ones i´ve seen, including paulsimon.com. Fans always have the better sites anyway. This is the first place i go when i´m online and i check back like every 10 minutes to see if there´s any new news or anything. I Love this site.

i don´t think paul knows about the site, cos he probably doesn´t look himself up on google (lol though if i was famous i would be tempted to do so!). but he would expect there to be fan sites around. but it would be nice if he knew about it. it´s such a fantastic site!

Hi

I´m very sure that Paul´s brother and manager knows about this site -

Some years ago I was asked to close a petition to ask Paul if he could start a new tour in Europe ( by the webmaster of paulsimon.com, who said he was asked by the management to do that)

I found that very strange, and I didn´t understand their reasons (he wrote something like: This site looks as if it is the official Paul Simon site, and people could get the impression that this voting will be official...something like that... well anyway a few months later Paul toured in Europe...)

If this site would be the official one then I´m sure I will have to delete around 90% of it..if not more. And fan´s can not upload pictures, news , articles, song chords and lyrics (even translations are not allowed I think)
It would be a very small site then. Mainly because the management of Paul doesn´t invest a lot of time in such a site. Everytime when you add a new picture you first have to ask the management and then the person who took the picture...when you upload song lyrics you have to ask Warner Music... it simply would not work.

Paul´s management is not interested in closing this site, they know we spend a lot of money for concert tickets, new DVD´s and CD´s... the P.S. Songbook for example only was released for fan´s like us - I´m sure it didn´t sell more than a few thousand copies (was there even an advertising on paulsimon.com for it??).

BTW.:

I´m searching for a webhost (a server on the internet) who has it´s company and servers somewhere in Asia, Africa or Russia... some country where the f...... music rights industry has no control until now.

At the moment this site run´s on a server in the USA, that´s not very good.

So if someone has information about a cheap and far away webhost, please let me know.

Paul would have to know of this site. Even if he doesn´t google his name you be sure one of his family or kids have. And he could only be chuffed with it. If I remember rightly the PS songbook came out not long after there were a lot of threads about rereleasing the album. keep up the good work Bodo and if Paul had any sense he´d tell the music people on the QT to stay away from here. When Numbers Get Serious ... will always be heard!

Hey hey, don´t be scared - I´ll not close the site.

But when things become more strange I´ll have to close a lot of sections...excessive fans, lyrics, pictures, articles, translations, albums (I´m sure the copyright law´s don´t allow it to list all albums and pictures of the cover...thats too much advertising...)

It is really strange what the music industry is doing, they are destroying themself, and have no clue what they are doing. I remember that I often used lyric pages on the internet to search for some news songs to play on my guitar - then I found some songs by CCR, and finally tought I´m going to buy their album now. ... But they know better I´m sure, the fan´s should go to prison and some aliens from Mars will buy their CD´s

Bodo, I am truely sorry about what is happening. Sites like this one are not just a plus for fans , but a benefit for Paul as well. Fan sites like these, are what help keep him and his legacy alive. There must be something we can all do to help out.
If it really comes down to it in a few months, I am sure that you can even take up a collection here to help. If everyone who loves this site could contribute even a little, perhaps you could save more of this site than you realize. This place is too precious to lose.
Keep us informed.
