That´s OK, Russ - not everyone in the world is born with an intimate knowledge of S&G! There´s a very long history here, but I think Paul summed it up best (of course!) when he was asked recently if he and Art were still friends. ´I don´t regard Artie as a friend,´ he said, followed by a stunned silence. ´I regard him as family.´ Says it all!

That´s really a good answer. A lot of free space for interpretation ;-)

Well, they´ve known each other for fifty years. Depends what you mean by friends. I don´t think it matters, it´s the result that counts. Laurel and Hardy only ever met in the studio, but they produced some great comedy. Brian May of Queen used to stay in a different hotel on tour because he couldn´t stand Freddie. The Beatles has rows and produced some wonderful albums. Paul and Artie can still attract hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people, and they still sounded great on tour. As Margaret Thatcher said of a completely different occasion: ´Just rejoice!´

I have a problem to belive that Brian May couldn´t stand Freddie Mercury. Was that written in the Sun?

No, I saw it on a TV documentary about Queen, so it must be true...

Hm, never heard about that.. and never saw a internet site writting about this.

I read sometimes brian´s soapbox on brianmay.com , where he mentioned that he was so sad after Merucrys death that he needed a psychiatrists help

I don´t understand the question exactly, but no - I don´t read or like newspapers like that one.

I like Pauls answer...It´s the best answer anyone could give. I mean hey, these guess have known each other a long time and have a strong bond. I´ve said it in the past that no matter how much you Love someone, you can find yourself hating them at times.

And families very often fall into this. I love my younger sister to bits, but there are times I hate her to bits too, for various reasones. But it doesn´t stop me loving her, or feeling upset when she´s hurt in someway. And I´d miss her like hell if she wasn´t around.

I think they do care and love one another a lot, but because of how long they´ve known each other, as Paul once said, they know what buttons to push and we´ve all been there.

SO, yeh, familiy is a good answer!

Hugs

Me
