 | "The essential S&G" got a platinum disc (sales of over 1 million units in the US) in February. Seems that they have closed their archive, which was for free. | | | | Klausi Mar-07-2005, 14:04 GMT

US-Album sales are over 40 Mio, since all figures are "over, but less than" the next million (resp. the first at "The Best of S&G").
Gold singles with sales of more than 1 million (could well be 3 or 4, since there is no higher than gold, singles sales dropped in the seventies):
The sound of silence
Mrs. Robinson
Bridge Over Troubled Water
Cecilia
Paul Simon:
Paul Simon: over 1 Million
There goes Rhymin: 1
Live rhymin`: 0,5
Still crazy: 0,5 (wrong!)

Negotiations...: 1
Rhythm of: 2
1964-1993: over 0,5

YTO over 0,5
US-Album sales about 15 million plus. After "Still crazy" Simon suited Columbia for incorrect payments; so Columbia did not announce the platinum status, which exists only since 1977. Still crazy is surely the best selling Simon-album of the seventies.
His gold Singles with more than 1 million copies sold in the US are:
Loves Me Like A Rock
50 Ways To Leave Your Lover
Slip slidin`away
For worldwide album sales it is quite realistic to double the totals.

 | And, he once did not know but to sing "Bridge Over Troubled Water".
One of the hightlights in Simon`s career. Saw it on TV months ago.
His hero sang his song, which he with Elvis songs only did in the bathroom and in a short scene of One-trick pony. | | | | Klausi Mar-08-2005, 13:28 GMT
