 | Just before I popped into here I was on Amps and, once again, someone was commenting on the hoarse sound of Artie and Paul´s voices, etc etc etc.....
I decided enough was enough and added my two cents worth...This is what I wrote....

"You know there is one thing people keep forgetting when they comment on the voices of Paul and Art....Arties voice was hoarse....
When those shows were recorded it was winter time. It hasn´t been that cold here, but I´ve had a soar thoat and stuffed up nose. The reason being becuase I work with groups of people...much like those guys. Stage hands, journalists, etc...
Give them a break guys, they´re only human and can and do get colds which effect the voice!

 | That´s a good thing to say on their behalf, Micky. But Miriam has a good point, too.
I think people are too critical of them in that respect . . . indeed, they may have not been in the best of health, and plus, they ARE getting older, you know! Their voices will naturally lack a great deal of the strength and force they had when they were in their 20s and 30s . . . it´s just a fact of life, that´s all.
I, for one, think that they still have nice voices for men in their 60s. | | | | Micky

 | I saw them in Columbus, Ohio in Oct. 2003...and then in June, 2004 in Cincinnati, Ohio....Their voices were much more strained in the first concert, especially Artie´s voice, almost scratchy at times.....the second concert was pure heaven....maybe because they had worked together for a longer period by the summer...Anyway, the DVD came from a couple of fall 2003 concerts when their voices were not as clear as the summer of 2004 when they also toured Europe....When all of you from Europe heard them...so the DVD would not sound as good.... | | | | |
