 | I hope it´s not about Paul and Edie.
Darling Lorraine is one of Paul´s Biggest songs and not just being over six minutes long - it´s also a very movie or musical style story song containing many different parts. |

 | No, it´s not about Paul and Edie! Paul has described most of his songs as semi-autobiographical: they´re about him, but about others too. I think in this case his insights into the downside of marriage comes from his times with Peggy and Carrie. And I think he says it´s about him and not about him in the opening of the song, where he says that Frank is from ´New York New York´ (Paul is from NY), but then he says ´I should have been a musician/I Love the piano´, which I take to mean ´Look, Frank isn´t me!´ |
